Remember the cold is no good either. I've seen what would be a beautiful sunburst Les Paul with cracks all over the finish.

And for godsakes, let the thing warm up gradually. If it is in a case, keep it there.

Ouch. That's kinda like dating someone you work with. If it doesn't work out it's gonna be awkward every time you see them. Just flat out tell him what you already wrote. Telling him he's a great guitar player but not right stylistically really shouldn't hurt his ego. Or maybe it's just a matter of ...

Hey dying to learn wav editing -- have found someone gracious enough to stop by one of our studios > at least get us into the ground floor & find out how to incorporate for our future clients.
Hey, dude, I'm glad to hear that. Embrace the technology.

(and muting?...) . Yes, there are individual MUTE buttons under each channel > on the face of the VS --we usually just hit a SOLO button , instead of muting a track. The above advice pretty much covers everything. If you're going for a Lamb Of God kick, be aware they're using samples to get that sound.

I agree with J.H. I would abandon the polarity reversed copy.

Why not pipe the drums through a loud speaker and re-record your room ambiance that way?

I know what you're saying. You never think of blending wet and dry with distrotion but it's a nice way to add dirt to vocals but still keep up with the clarity. I guess I got the idea from reading an article about how the vocals for The Mars Volta were tracked: with a 58 next to the condenser just f...

That's a nice way to retain more control. Pretty much any effect I use on vocals I bus to an aux track and "mix in parallel".

Yes, could be your room. Maybe you are compensating for low mid build up. That's what those other recordings have that give you the perception of lows in the buds.

You could say something like "That's a good suggestion and I've tried that in the past but I think it wouldn't be right for this situation" or something along those lines. If you wanted to be nice. Otherwise you could be like "Where did you hear that from?" and "That sounds like rubbish." "Poppycock!"

There are a shit load of bands out here so if you set up a good place and charge decent rates there's no reason why you wouldn't get any business. . This is true, if you have chops, decent equipment, can afford a decent space, and charge a reasonable rate there are lots of bands to record. Given th...
