Re: Cheap but good headphone amp recommendations

I'm not a Behringer fan at all but their headphone amps are hard to beat. The 8 channel 1U rack version will take two different mix inputs, is plenty loud and reasonably sturdy (even for a Behringer). It's cheap new but I've also bought then used for almost nothing and had no issues. I currently ow...

Re: De-harshing distorted guitars

An other option that I’ve done is use a tape saturation plug in like Massey Tapehead set on the dark setting and it helps tame some thin fizz tones and can add some low mids. If it’s real bad I agree with the surgical cuts in the 4-7hkz area or a multiband compressor in that area. If it’s too dark a...

Re: Mounting Mics To Drum Rims

You won’t regret the LP Claw for snare, or close micing cymbals. The Shure AD’s are cool especially if you have 98’s with the gooseneck. I tried some Dvices with 12 Guage Mics Blue 12s on toms a week ago which worked really well in terms of fitting in their weird mic clips and the mics are so light ...

Re: No fancy tube mics - am I missing out?

I’m greatful for finding this place when I first started many moons ago, and this mentality giving me the courage to kee...

I'm more of a humbucker guy so I would go with a Les Paul style guitar. Like someone mentioned Rondo music has some great Les Paul knock offs. I have an Agile that I bought from them that plays and sounds great. If you had a Les Paul type guitar and a Strat style guitar you can cover pretty much any...

Going through my gear and most of it actually works surprisingly! Some of it was dead and some of kinda works but glitches out or is just staticy sounding. So it's not a total lose, just partial. I'm mostly sad about losing my space. Hopefully I'll find something new in a few months... We'll see. We...

Not to be all spammy buuuut I have a Ramsa WR-S4424S thats in great condition for sale. The preamps and EQ sound sick. Look up anything about them on here or gearslutz and you'll read nothing but rave reviews. 24 channels, direct outs on each channel, inserts on each channel, 4 aux 4 buss, and most ...

Hey not trying to spam at all, but a friend of mine set up a GoFundMe page for me. He kinda just randomly set the amount. It's may cover the damage don't or it' may not even scratch the surface (you guys know first hand how much this shit costs). We are unsure of the totally extent of the damage don...

I love Ministry! They were pretty innovative in the late 80's ear;y 90's. I read part of that book, it was highly entertaining.

Masada, John Zorns Book Of Angles series, Electric Masada, Nels Cline Singers, Double recommend Mahavishnu Orchestras first three albums and Steve Lehman.
