Hi all, just a quick one to say thanks to Mr Massey, i'm currently using the demo versions of his plugins, and enjoying them greatly - they are excellent without exception, and I think it is very community spirited of him to make them available in the way he has - I know that as soon as finances allo...

Thanks for the reply wedge, I suspected as much. Did you find it just didn't sound good, or did you actually run into sync problems?I'm concernmed that the 8 channels from the ADAT out arrive at the mixer a bit later than the 8 from the analog out. Reckon i'm prolly not gonna bother, at least with t...

External summing with digi 001/PT 6.4

Hi all, got a quick one - are there any long time 001 users here who mix out of the box using all 18 outputs (that is, 8 analog, 8 from an ADAT d/a like the behringer ad8000, 2 from Sp/dif through a converter) into an external hardware mixer? Do the tracks (barring plugin delays come out at the same...

How about Tom Waits "Nighthawks At The Diner" - it was his first with producer "Bones" Howe, and they basically hired a hot jazz band to back him up, built a fake bar on a movie lot, invited loads of famous people and recorded it totally live over two or three nights, just picked the best takes. Not...

Just to point out, I own a cybermix, and not to put too fine a point on it, it's not exactly hi-fi nor is it accurate. Don't even use mine any more. I'd mix in the box and make life easy - there aren't any ace analog goodies hiding inside a cybermix. Saying that, i'm gonna strip out all the VCA's fr...

Not to throw water on this fire, but if this switch is designed for switching valve amp heads into one cab, you're gonna need dummy loads - it's NO GOOD AT ALL to have the amps that aren't connected to the cab just floating - you'll have a real big tube and output tranny bill quite quickly i'd say -...

That'd be great Rod. I know a few guys who are a bit more electronics savvy than me, pretty sure between me and them it'd be a goer - if you could get those voltages, that'd rule. If you get a chance - don't put yourself out though, I imagine you have far more interesting things to be getting on wit...

Thanks - I presume the 2E is the one that comes with the 240v trany as stock?
If you think I could get a replacement tranny for cheap that'd work ok, i'd be tempted to have a go with a us 110v unit - heck, if it comes out ok, I might buy 4!
Thanks for the great thread and advice!
Cheers,
Paul

Hi Rod, just posted replying to another thread over in gear talk, then found this one, doh!;-p I'm interested to know if these units run only with 110v as stock (i'm in the UK), quite tempted to shel out for a few if they are easy to mod for uk mains, or come switchable. Sorry for the idiot question...

Hi all. Rod C, you seem to be the guy in the know regarding these Shure mixers - I presume they only run on 110v mains? I'm in the UK, tempted buy one or two just for grins, but obviously won't if they won't run on 240V mains from stock or can't be easily modded. Any thoughts? These things look like...

The guitars on "Ear Candy" by King's X are mainly Marshall 6100LM heads (30th anniversary three channel). The Mesa Dual rectifiers were for "Dogman" mostly, although they might be on "Ear Candy" in a few places. BTW, whoever mentioned the gibson lab series L5 amp, well, i'm a massive King's X fan, a...

Hiya.If you are buying a stand to hang a 15" tom from, I reccommend get the biggest scariest heavy stand you can find that fits - I don't hang toms like that as a rule, just because they always seem to end up bending and buckling the stand slightly (or not so slightly). Not to make myself seem more ...

Hi all. Those pioneer sr-101's look cool! I love this sort of stuff, much more fun than a plugin, bet it'd work great with my little PT rig for a bit more color.Don't suppose anybody knows if you can switch them to run on uk mains voltage (220v/240v)? The great british spring is quite hard to find o...

Hi all. I'm in with most of the above, although I don't mind small toms (NOT rototoms, those things are clearly the work of Satan). Just a quick thought for anybody using piezo's - the actual piezo bug or strip is a passive device, usually with a little preamp in the guitar to allow a bit of volume ...
