just cause i didn't see anyone mention it. ipods can't (as in can not) play back uncomressed .wav's or .aiffs. it can try.. but it will stop and go on you. it can't buffer it. if you really think you can hear it.. apple lossless is pretty good, and ipods CAN play it back with out studdering. alas th...

the weakness of the spirit M line is no buss's.. and phantom power either on or off for the whole board.
but nice EQs.. direct outs on all the channels. and four aux sends (2 pre, 2 post).. gives you lots of routing options.

i'm very pro ART. (grew up in rochester).. but i don't trust any of their gear with that variable voice preset stuff. TPS anyone? instantly pretty worthless. if ART would just stop it with the gimmicks, and upgrade some componets instead. i think they could be making some good gear. the VLA, MPA, Le...

those power supply thingies. seems like voodoo to me. i've never heard them make any difference. other then you can rack them, they seem useless.. spend the 150 on something more usefull imo. like.. maybe just upgrade your speakers to some event's? but eh, the m-audios are probably fine too. the 150...

FS/FT: 2 zip drives (scsi)

i found 2, yeah 2, scsi zip drives in my closet. no scsi cables. and only one "zip" power supply. also, 7 100mb zip disc. could this be any use to anyone? no idea if they work properly. as i don't have scsi anything anymore to hook them up to. let alone the cables anyways!! id take.. money, or, chea...

i agree that UAD stuff is the way to go. but it does take more work. and if your gonna do it quick.. for free. just for like CDrs or myspace.. i think PSP vintage warmer is a quick fix.
it's all academic though. do what needs to be done in relation to time and cost.

i love the "i haven't used" it recomendations. if i need some down a dirty master dynamics killin'.. T-Racks Limiters can get in there and you won't sound stupid. you can move around the cross overs, and indepedent levels on each (its a 3 band limiter).. its pretty dirty though. but sometimes thats ...

'cause i can. how about.. sing it MORE off tune? or auto tune the double.. (this assumes your main track is in tune though) auto tune will eat the life right out of that doubled vocal sounds, and make it "perfect". or something. if it was me, and we didn't want that effect.. sing more off tune. then...

well there was the thread just a few back about how the reality is. mackie pre's just aren't that bad. what you put in it way way more important.

price to quality? i would say mackie, presonus, & art if you ask me.

thats a nice looking mic atleast. i bet people would be into singing into it just by looking at it. that could almost be as important as how it sounds. placebo eefffect in the building. only if i hadn't just bought a whole bunch of new stuff!!

if a screen on a apple laptop does not work. 9 times out of 10. its the logic board. i would guess in this case, that is the problem. dead or messed up logic board. if that is the case, last i knew, it was pretty much the same cost to just buy a new laptop, then getting a new logic board installed, ...
