Maybe i'm missing the point on this as i don't use adat, but for me, the echo was weak all around in everything analog. The pres, the headphone amp, the main outs, none of them were ever good for me. The ad/da seemed fine though. Replaced it with an rme ufx and 100 times happier. 100x happier at on...

Sorry, forgot to include the link, it's there now. The Yamaha's have been compared to Neves, they "drive" nicely and sound great on drums.

It's a little above your price range, but I recently picked up one of these and am loving it so far. Decent clean pres, 8 analog ang 8 adat ins, very easy to configure in pro tools. For an inexpensive pre, i'd look at some racked yamaha pm1000s, they frequently come up here on the b/s/t. http://www....

I haven't had time to read the article yet, but don't you have to convert it to digital before "printing" the record? This seems like a novelty / fad, not sure what the actual value is of making a "vinyl" copy of a digital file.

Digi002R - 240$

Digi002R in great, (fully functional) condition, has never had any issues. I do not have the discs that came with, you will need your own copy of Pro Tools. Located in my practice space in Williamsburg (Brooklyn), I'm usually there on Sunday mornings and would prefer local pick up. (If anyone wants ...

AudioFire Pre8 and Pro Tools

I'm thinking of picking up an AudioFire Pre8 to replace my Digi002 (which I have not been able to get to play nice since I upgraded to a new Macbook and Pro Tools 10 last month.) I'm looking for any and all feedback from people who are using the Audiofire unit with Pro Tools 10. My main concerns are...

Quick Question Re: Oktava MK219 Height

I'm away from my mic collection this week but have a lead on a great possible storage options (mic cabinet.) Could anyone please do me a huge favor and measure an Oktava MK219 from head to toe?

Thanks!

Husker Du keeps coming up, and I keep insisting that those albums sound AMAZING on vinyl. I'm probably the only person who believes this. Zen Arcade was one of the first CDs I ever heard (I borrowed it from the Library, then purchased it soon after.) I thought music was supposed to sound like that ...

Won an auction today for a Langevin AM1A mixer, modded for direct outs, pads, and phantom power. I'm hoping it will be versatile enough to use as my entire front end at home.

Sure it "sounds" better, in a cosmetic kind of way, you're running the mix through some awesome hardware! Problem is, while obtaining all that awesome color you're also losing a lot of bits of information in the process. If everyone wants to combat me on this, does that mean that you guys DON'T bel...

I'd try an SM7, or if you have access to one maybe a CAD M177 (or 179).

Sparks!

Recorded my band's rehearsal today. Sometimes we start out with this, it's the only cover we do, and is a lot of fun for a warm up. I should have spent more time getting levels (you'll hear some nasty digital distortion from the drums ins a couple of places), but you get the idea. http://landspeedre...
