I've been testing these out today, and while some work fine, I'm finding that some aren't working right... they have lots of handling noise, but little to no actual signal. Kenny had the same problem with his, and he's sending it back for me to fix. I'm having this issue too. Actually had two other...

Timely post! A few days ago I finally decided to get rid of my sharp 722 after years of it getting no love. Was wonderful for rehearsal recordings though. That + the sony ecm-ms907 stereo-mini-plug mic setup got a ton of play back in the day. Will hang on to the home deck in the unlikely event I hav...

In the mixer view, at the bottom, the channel fader value display, can be changed to samples of plugin delay by (on xp) alt+ctrl clicking on the fader value. You then can use the delay compensation plugin to align the channels. or put the same plugins on both drum busses, and set the non-compressed ...

this rules. IMO, it sounds very good, but that's not really important at all. The energy and material of these performances would shine through cruddy mixes any day.

something downstream of that track is sending the signal to both left and right. Set Sonar's mixer window to show tracks, busses, and main outputs. The meters for the entire exit path of the track in question should follow that tracks panning. If they do, the problem exists outside of sonar. Could b...

Topic: digimax LT, how do i get the inserts to act as analog output

Are the pre amps of the Frontier similar/better/worse than those on the Pre Sonus? If i got one of these units, the DigiMaxLT wouldn't even be need, right, because this would do everything the LT did and more... if you're looking for something in the same ballpark as the LT for preamps, but with DA...

ok, then to sum it up, everybody agrees that the DigiMax LT will NOT be able, with any sort of cable modification, etc, to give me 8 extra analog outputs that I can send into my console, to do a stereo mix (to 1/4 inch tape)? this is correct. it is A to D only. Period. Well, and mic pre to line oup...

The digimax FS will do what you're looking to accomplish. So will the behringer ada8000, the Alesis AI-3...there's also some Aphex 1/2 rack units and IIRC a fostex that will also do this on the cheap. No shortage of more expensive units that will do it too.

I use mono as a generic reality check, and often as a test for how much delay to put on a split signal. I'll ususally reduce the delay time after listening in mono.

BTW it's very cool that you even HAVE a varacoustic ribbon. Got it at an antiques store, for way less than it's worth, along with an Electro-voice V2 and a Sony C37p. That's a hell of an antique store run! I love the V2, and well, a C37... is that my imagination or did you build this into a tea str...

The only tapes I recall having an issue with were Fuji consumer svhs tapes.

I used to use Maxell, TDK and quantegy on a regular basis, with no ill effects except for normal ADAT wonkiness.

Los Medanos is good, especially for the money. I went to SFSU for the 4-year broadcasting degree, emphasizing in audio production; I had a great experience, well worth the time and money spent. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. Bonus when you leave, you've got a 4-year degree under your belt. The...

is this horn fused in any way? I've blown the light bulb fuse a few times on my SWR, is why I ask. It distorts noticeably, so assumed it needed replaced? Quite possible then. Could also be in the crossover/ L-pad/ wiring/ or maybe something got into the horn itself (critter, grit, gremlin). I'd try...
