Ah, but do they adhere to this punk rock ethos? Do the Blow and Deerhoof listen to and, more importantly, want to be like the Ramones? Also, "sounds like the radio" isn't the same as "is as vapid as pop music." Pop music seems to have hit a new low - but damn it sounds clean and crisp. This might ma...

If you get the sound you want, it's not cheating. What I'm reading (more like psychoanalyzing?) between the lines is that something didn't sound good, you slapped XYZ on it, and it sounded good - maybe you feel guilty because you just used a preset instead of your "engineer knowledge"? If it'll make...

Picking Your Brainses About Music Libraries, for TV/Films...

Anybody have any info to share on how to get placement for TV & film bumper/background music? I'm going to make a concerted effort for this starting within the next few months, so I was wondering if anybody here had any tips/info/experience they could share. Right now I plan to "fake it until I make...

Also compare the Dells to recommended specs - I bought a cheapo Dell, and it has not failed me...once I upgraded the RAM, added a second harddrive and new soundcard.

...

Fortunately I have a good buddy who is handy with computers.

Re: Hello

I am meeting with a guy tomorrow that says what I am missing is version of protools. Naw - I seriously doubt protools does anything that your VS2480 can't - a buddy of mine mixed our friend's band album on a VS2480 (I think that was the model) and it sounded completely pro to me. I think getting ai...

there should be a mod where you can ask people a question automatically. 'an sm-57 is a type of mic_______' simple enough that any human could answer it. good idea, yet hardcore spammers would just google it. yeah, literally there is an average of one new member per hour. and i'm not exaggerating. ...

I'm currently working on a hardcore album where we are literally punching every half line of vocals. I've always wondered how they manage to yell for a whole song without their voice hurting. Now I know! Also, classical punch-ins?! "Oxymoron" isnt the word I'm looking, but that just seems wrong...

What the magicman said. Also, if possible, re-track the vox - great performance, but they sound a little too distant. Just listening to his voice now I predict you're going to have to EQ out a bit of the low end, if you can. In terms of presence and prominence, switch the vox with the guitars - in b...

http://entertainment.howstuffworks.com/music-royalties.htm This should get you started - and really, a search on google and yahoo will get you lots of discussion of US royalties. There's no shortage of books in the US on this subject, also, but I'd imagine they probably don't sell those in Europe ;)...
