Sould I be looking for the older vintage mic pres or buy new ones? Api makes the same 512 mic pre like the older ones, but am un...

AEA is making a new ribbon mic , the R92, just for electric guitar. It should be available soon for under $1000. Got my eye on that one.

What about a nice old ribbon mic? You can get those old Reslo ribbon mics cheap over there.

Re: Cheap summing bus with inserts?
There is a thread on the 3db audio forum right now discussing all of the new summing boxes. I too am in the market for one of these. There are a few out there in and around the $1000 mark.

Re: BEATLES (EMI) Altec compressor information
Are people convinced that with this information they will be able to make records that sound like the Beatles? I'm just curious. I want it as more of an addition to a collection of Beatles books I already have. It is also interesting to know what they used to capture those sounds. The only way to s...

I play bass through my Fender Quad Reverb 4x12. Mind you it is just in my house, no band ect. I keep the volume reasonable.

Anyone using a Pendulum MDP-1?
These are now available in Canada and am thinking of buying one. Any of you guys/girls using this pre? If so how do you like it and what can you tell me about it. I would hate to shell out $3000 CDN and not like it. Thanks to all who respond.

Re: New Ebay Scammer...
Bastards! Hopefully they will all get what is comeing to them. Most of you know that we all have to scrimp and save to buy gear whether it be used or new. Eating macaroni and cheese for 6 months just to buy a nice mic pre is totally worth it, but then some asshole steals your cash and your confidenc...

Re: Music Store Credit Cards

Especially if it is going to be on some digital box that will be worthless in a couple of years. If you are buying something that will hold it's value like...
