Want the math? The shortest delay that the human ear can detect is 20ms (0.02 sec). It takes one nanosecond (1*10^-9 seconds) for an electron to travel 14 inches of cable. 0.000000001 seconds = 14 inches Multiply both sides by 20,000,000 0.020 seconds = 280,000,000 inches = 23,333,333 feet = 4419 mi...

The acids and chemicals left in the smoke, get deposited onto everything the smoke can get into, which means everything in the studio. These chemicals and acids will slowly eat away at everything they touch, especially if it is heated up, or is conducting electricity, as that will slowly keep activ...

The Dual Showman Reverb is the head version of the Twin Reverb. Exact same circuit, chassis, everything. And a lot cheaper than a TR. I also use it to experiment with speakers.Jim Williams wrote:I like mounting the head in it's own cab. Then bring the speakers of choice to fit the venue, 1x12, 2x12, 4x12 or more.

I rent a house and have put my studio in the basement. The basement is unfinished with fiberglass floor insulation overhead. Fiberglass "sheds" a lot of dust. I've lived in a lot of different places and this fiberglass dust is the worst I have dealt with. You can't just brush it off with a paintbrus...

Use cassettes with the shortest time. The 90/100 minute cassettes use thinner tape than 60 minute, in order to squeeze all that tape into that little cartridge. The thinner tape wears out faster and is more likely to get eaten by the cassette transport. Stay away from generic no name cassettes. Use ...
