Re: digital playback device for live shows?
Less facetiously, the smaller, older MPCs (500/1000/2500) sometimes pop up cheap.
They can do a lot more, but simply playing samples is pretty easy.

You might need a heavier-duty ethernet switch in between than the average house has, but yes, Dante can talk to Dante.

Re: Push2 as controller for UA Shape Instrument
Sounds like one side or the other is configured to treat that CC like a switch, rather than a continuous value?
I don't know what platform you're on, but it can be useful to use a utility like MIDI-ox to see what's being sent. I'd expect to see messages with 0-127 for the range of the control.

Re: Coleman Audio Monitoring — is it supposed to be this quiet?
The interface is a ULN-8? Maybe the manual answers it: They default to Monitor level, which is optimized for connecting to self powered monitors or amplifiers. If you are connecting to another device like a mixing console you can change this to Line. Or more succinctly Nominal FS output (Balanced) O...

Re: Favorite Music/Audio related charities
A few entities I've given to in the past spring to mind: My local independent FM music stations. We have an NPR-adjacent station that plays locally programmed music - I think the only syndicated show they have is World Cafe on the overnights. We've also got one of the few dedicated Jazz stations in ...

Re: Valhalla Supermassive
I remember ages ago, when Sean costello asked for some pointers on how reverb worked on the Synth-DIY mailing list. (or was it MusicDSP?) He certainly managed to get himself into a pretty comfortable position in that world. He's also known for lifting the curtain about how different reverbs work - i...

Re: Kick drum: port hole or not?
The size and location of the port also make a difference. A big hole, dead center on the front head, lets the air rush right out, more like not having a front head. If the hole's big enough, about the only use of such a head is to retain the hoop & claws, to help prevent damage to the front bearing ...
