I just got an unexpected session this weekend, and I need some 1/2" tape. I live in the Boston area but I'd be willing to drive a bit to pick up some tape. I don't really have a preference on what kind, I need it before Sunday.

I've done it before with directly from the aux send to my console driving it and boosted the return with gain from a mic pre. Wasn't quiet though, and didn't sound all that great, but it did work.

Try a small headphone amp if you have one laying around, or that art pre should work.
