Thanks for all the replies! It looks like the 635A is the favourite and they're apparently very common (now that I know what to look for :P ). I'll be ordering one of these soon.

Current omnidirectional dynamics

Hey gang, I'm looking for a mic to jam in betwixt the snare and toms of my cocktail kit (I believe "heart mic" is the term?) and I'm thinking an omni dynamic would be the way to go for this. There doesn't seem to be much available so I'm wondering if people can throw out some recommendations, prefer...

I took them for a quick spin. Nothing really stood out for me; they all sound good but so does a lot of other stuff, some cheaper, some not. I think if you were starting from scratch the bundle might not be a bad way to go.

Whoops, just noticed this thread after I started a new one. Sorry for the cut and paste... I just moved back home after a long stint away and decided to start a fake band with a couple of old friends. It's just electric drums and Sansamped guitars and bass into my laptop but it was fun! http://thesw...

Good idea; I'll give them a call!

Thanks for the replies so far; I haven't had any luck finding one on the L&M website so it may be a one-off they have in-store there. I'll probably have to do the mail-order thing from the states but we usually get hosed on customs fees. I'll keep digging around but all suggestions are welcome!

Cocktail drums in Canada?

Hey Gangstas, I've convinced myself that I need a cocktail drum kit and am coming up dry finding a Canadian dealer. Does anyone know of anyone up here that deals in them (the farther west, the better)? Thanks!

Thanks for the feedback. I'm soothed. Chris Harris- I though the Beatles remastered "Come Together" sounded great. How much does a mastering job cost for 1 song vs. 1 album with 10 songs roughly? Or is there a rough estimate at all? Most of the mastering guys on this forum don't like to toot their ...

Just another option, I always dual-boot my music machine with Ubuntu and use that if I need to do any surfing/internet related activity (or anything non-music related, for that matter). Much cheaper than buying a mac and just as virus-proof, if not more-so. It's very simple to do and you can allocat...

Delay times are adjustable up to (if memory serves) around 600ms but there's no wet/dry feature so it's no good as a send effect. The delay sounds great and you can pick between feedback and slap. This is easily one of my favourite plugins ever.
