Re: ignore this
You'll find that's asking a lot around here. And furthermore: Shouldn't this be in General Recording?

Re: Silent Observers Speak Up
people shit on the lurkers... Who shits on the lurkers? Madpie's comment somewhere back in the day -- along the lines of "Lurking seems somehow wrong to me. I mean, not a little lurking, but ongoing lurking. Wrong and extreeeeeeemly dull" -- seemed less an indictment of the act than a kinda charact...

Re: Silent Observers Speak Up
I post hardly ever, when I'm in a place with electricity, or when I'm loaded on booze. I have very little to tell anyone and a lot I need to learn, so while people shit on the lurkers, in my business I call it reading. And modesty. So i end up posting to posts about not posting. When I'm loaded on b...

Try Dan Rugh at EightOneFour in Pixsburg. He's a good guy, skater, punk rocker, dodgeball player, wheelie hoiker.

A man and his staggered studs.
Whoever this guy is, I think he oughta be interviewed in Tape Op. Though he's pimpin' the audiophiliac tendency, his documentation is outta sight. I was rebuilding a room, and everything I needed to know was here.

Re: You guys are gonna hate me but I'm changing my mind.
No no no, that's what I'm talking about... 3rd parties can be viable. If only people could read, they'd discover a whole world of representation that's been hitherto hidden from them by the powers of mediocre broadcasting. Sissy, I think you have inspired someone somewhere. I just hope it isn't PA a...

Re: no new tapeop yet
Yeah Joel, it just credits Dawn. BTW, I can't believe that for $500 those are backordered so much. I would think at that price, those pedals would only be going to Thom Yorkes. Too many kids with credit cards, but good for John.

Re: r8, tsr-8 other 8track?
Buy what's cheap. OK, so SY did Daydream Nation on the TSR-8 and Jon Spencer did Orange on the Otari, but ultimately I think it's about what the market is hyping. The Otari is sturdier (especially hub-wise) and the TSR is more user-serviceable IMO. I think they output roughly the same. But money's i...

Re: shins - Is this Print-through?
Your Shins question came to mind when I was burning a disc of the Walkmen "Bows & Arrows" LP for a friend. When I was slicing up the burned copy, I noticed the Farfisa that opens "Hang On, Siobhan" comes in faintly about 2 sec's before the cranked real tone. Anyone got the CD? Can you hear the same ...
