old school jazz touring trick is to hang the suit up in the hotel bathroom, close the door and run the shower on hot for 2 hours. ecologically responsible, no. easiest way to steam a suit yourself, yes.

you got protools? :) the only thing that sucks about having protools is everytime you hear tape or radar, you will wonder why you ever used protools... and then everytime someone asks for a ton of edits, you'll wonder why you ever used tape or radar... and now on topic, people shoud mix with tony. h...

correct me if I'm wrong, but the head basket was put on incorrectly when the capsules were replaced... the metal frame is directly in front of the top capsule... when the head baskets are aligned, the capsules should also be aligned... IIRC. unless I'm tripping, you might want to fix that... or knoc...

our good friend (and amazing drummer) dave burnett built us a purdy new website.

we post our rates, and they are (almost always) firm. anyone asking about a 20 day lockout knows they have a strong bargaining angle.... but we also have priced our rooms so that anyone who knows what's up knows that they are getting a sick deal. We (politely) decline any attempts at haggling in sit...

FS: SoundWorkshop 34C 32ch with add'l 16ch returns section
We've been rocking this console in B for a minute now, but we are planning a huge upgrade to Studio A in the console dept, and so our much loved Auditronics 501 will be moving to B and displacing the SoundWorkshop. It is a great sounding, easy to use inline console. We had the master section recappe...

Blumlein is great in front of drums. I have done it a bunch. Lately I seem to have moved on, but that's how it goes, innit. I'll likely be back to it. Also, if the rest of the setup is something that you know works, just print it, even it you're not super excited about it in the tracking. Sometimes ...

Any studio owners whose studios and livelihood were jeopardized by Hurricane Sandy: Get in touch with us, we're offering both our studios up for free late night time, you just have to pay our assistant or intern a very low fee to keep...

The tone of a vocal, or any other close mic'd sound, is hugely influenced by the room... and the 2k/day studio most likely has a great sounding room. That's still the most important part of the equation (after great talent)... and it's the reason why recordings made in 'real' studios will always sou...
