Interesting, though I still don't see why it can't be broadcast. What if you recorded a "general tone" from the environment, turned that out-of-phase, then re-broadcast. Wouldn't that have somewhat of a cancelling effect? IOW, why is the isolation required on the speaker-end? Even if it's not dynami...

Manual noise cancelling?

Is there a way to simulate what noise-cancelling headphones do, and does it make sense to broadcast it, or are we better off with Beethoven?

Just so you know, Alan has not been a part of Depeche Mode for over 12 / 13 years. They are still friends, but he is not a band member. Cheers Wasn't he a classically trained pianist? yes, and a fine technician. part of their success was they covered all the basis and each specialized at their stre...

Can AlanWilder really maintain his repertoire w/soft synths?

Looks like all the hard loot is for sale. I don't use softsnyths, except a sampler that plays SF2s (soundfonts).

thx. i've found a few progs, but they're mickey-mouse hacks that don't do the job. i should probably just troll it. sometimes you spend more time and effort trying to engineer problems away.

(unless im reading something wrong) "automatically save a new file for each section you've created?" <- this part audacity looks pretty good (i use an older sonar). they all split well, but the trick is the export/file creation. on anything i've seen, it has to be done manually for each file -- a l...

well, as a disclaimer i'll state that i'm neither an 'aspiring musician' or an engineer. it's an addictive hobby and i love rock-n-roll. i'll state that because i don't really care about the stigma of 'name dropping' or 'engineer-client privilege'. i'll say what i preceive is worthy and avoid being...

i guess i'm anomalously in the dandy camp. i think they can sound really good, and i feel like i understand them. i saw bjm once and was like, 'who cares?' there was a palpable buzz not backed up by what i heard. if anton is some instrumental wizard and a musical messiah, i'd say: a) it doesn't take...

I've had guns pulled on me 3 times in my life, and I don't recommend it. Thinking about it doesn't make me feel tough; I'm reminded of how helpless and scared I felt. When someone points a gun at you, whether criminal or law enforcement, the possibility of death or maiming is right there in your fa...
