Eh, yeah, I remember those days. Technically, the first thing I used was Acid. I was supposed to do a remix for my electro-industrial band. I'd never used a computer for anything musical except as a basic MIDI librarian for my hardware sequencer. Bandmate literally sat me down in front of his comput...

Re: Do labels have right to multi-track archives??
Ahh, gotta love the internet...always full of assumptions. No, I did not sidestep the question about a lawyer. It is, in fact, the best route to take, and I will bring this up with the rest of the guys asap. Probably the reason the point was driven so hard is because within half a page of your orig...

Egads! Before you try anything so incredibly drastic as installing an Apple OS onto a windoze pc, or even "downgrading" to a different MS OS, try the incredibly simple, methodical, and un-dramatic steps listed above. Here's a useful quote from a nearby thread : The only bummer about doing things lik...

Yeah, I think if I had a FW port then I'd be in better shape, but only USB 2. Grrr... Well, that is a bummer... Nevertheless, all the previous advice is still worth looking into. You'll have to methodically check each thing one at a time. There are still a ton of unanswered questions (see above)......

Have you tried any of the stuff I mentioned? I really think it could be as simple as swapping the USB drive for a firewire one. Also, what sample rate is your session? A high track-count session at high sampling rates like 96k could get you the "can't get audio from drive fast enough" error. How was...

Vista = clusterfuck this is the unofficial line i get from ppl i know at MS. hopefully Windows 7 will be better. This may be true, but it should still work. I run PT on vista all day every day with no problems. WRT USB drives I don't know, I never use them. But there's a lot to be cleared up regard...

Thanks J. But do I have to format my hard drive all over again to do that or can I partition remaining space on the HD without formatting?? Also, would I have to reinstall all my software to the new partition or could it access it from the original Vista partition?? You need only to create a new pa...

Just to clarify, you don't need a 2nd internal drive for XP. You can partition your main internal "OS" drive, and install XP on the new partition. No need to buy another drive. The previous link I posted can show you how. Your XP and Vista partitions will show up in your computer as if they are two ...

How would I go about partitioning my C:\ drive and installing XP on it?? Would I then have to reinstall all my software on the partition?? I've never done that before. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I did this using the directions at apcmag . Works fine. Your computer will look at the parti...
