Re: Avantone mixcube question.
Oh hey T-rex, any luck with those Slint bootlegs? No worries if not, I'm just curious because they sound cool!

Re: Avantone mixcube question.
Probably make sense to read the manual for the Presonus, particularly under Section 4.1 Back Panel Basic Layout. http://tinyurl.com/825brle Well I've already got a pair of Events running out of the Monitor/Thru jacks.. I was hoping to run the mixcubes from the front panel headphone outs, like I've ...

Avantone mixcube question.
I'm thinking of getting a pair of the passive mixcubes, and I'm wondering if I can run them off of my Presonus HP4 headphone amp.
Any thoughts on this?
If you have another suggestion for a similar speaker that can be run from the HP4, please let me know.
Danke.

Re: Help! Outboard gear causing phase issues
I used to use the 1010s, nice units. I know this is not your issue since the polarity is correct, but you should be aware of this: Delta 1010 Polarity issue Tuesday, 22 January 2008 23:02 I have just noticed that when I switch my input level from +4 to -10 that the signals phase is inverted. http:/...

Re: Help! Outboard gear causing phase issues
Thank you for all the replies! Here are the answers to the posted questions: 1. I'm using PT M-powered 8 (w/ Delta 1010) 2. Checked all my cables (also, they're fairly new) 3. Yes, it sounded phasey before I began nudging it. 4. I did not try reversing the polairty of the compressed tracks because w...

Help! Outboard gear causing phase issues
I'm running my drum mix out to my ART Pro VLA II for parallel compression. I know there'll be a slight delay, so I've been attempting to compensate for that after I record it by nudging the track and lining up the waveforms. No matter what I do, I can't seem to get it in phase with the original drum...

Where to place cloud?
Hey guys... so I totally rearranged my control room. Got some Argosy speaker stands, put some acoustic traps behind each speaker and such. Anyway, already I'm liking the sound a lot more. I'll probably be adding more bass traps in the future, but right now I'm trying to figure out the best way to go...

Quality preamps and the recorded source.
Awhile back I had a post in which I included a quick comment about how I could only hear a slight difference between my API 512c's and my Mackie 1642 VLZ II pres. Admittedly, using poorer quality monitors, in a poor quality space. Anyway, I caught a little flac for that. That randomly popped in my h...

Re: Monitor placement in my oddly shaped control room
Hey Snarl, Yeah, I could probably convince my girlfriend to help a bit.. but it'll probably just be me moving stuff around for the majority of it. *sigh* I was anticipating this. Not looking forward to moving all the cables. Out of curiosity, do you think monitors perform better when isolated on sta...

Monitor placement in my oddly shaped control room
Quick back story: This room is in my basement; it's a house I rent. I've been reading and calculating room modes for a separate room in the house (the "live" room) but have been unable to find much info regarding modes with non-rectangular rooms. What I did find said it's pointless to calculate mod...

Rent microphones in Seattle?
Over the course of a couple months I've been looking around for places in Seattle that I can rent mics from. The best I've found is Mills Music.. which has virtually no selection. Does anyone know of any companies or studios to rent from in the greater Seattle area? Or, perhaps you're a studio owner...

Re: Heavy duty boom stands
Cool deal. Thanks for your help guys! I'll be picking one of those up shortly. May grab a couple of the add-on weights as well. They're on ebay for cheaper than amazon at the moment.

Re: Heavy duty boom stands
I've had two of them for a couple of years. I typically ask that clients wait for me to adjust stands. And, I've taken good care of them. They're still operating as when they were new. You have two of the weighted on-stage stands, or you have two standard on-stage stands? If the former, how was the...

Re: Heavy duty boom stands
I saw people speaking highly of the On-Stage heavy duty boom stand that sells for $120, but I think I don't trust it. This is exactly my thinking as well. I have a couple on-stage stands (standard size), and they are pretty poor quality. That other stand you linked to looks nice, but $200 is still ...
