Thanks. I took the plunge and ordered the compressor.
I had the original grey Ross compressor as a kid and thought it was completely useless...no idea whatever happened to it, or why i suddenly feel the need to own one again, but here goes...

I am interested in building the Ross compressor from BYOC, but have almost no experience with soldering, schematics, etc. I was wondering if one needs any skill at all to build these or can an idiot like myself manage to cob one together? my buddy took the speaker out of his valve jr and made it into a cute little head. seemed kinda pointless to me but it IS cute..if you like cute.

I have heard that the pots on these old VP's are somehow sealed and its hard to get the de-oxit stuff in there. I literally have no clue tho if thats really the case. If you screw up the string in there and need to know how to re-attach it there is a tutorial I think at the Carter Steel Guitar site....

Howdy folks...I'm a novice and a newbie to the fancy pants world of recording so flame away. Heres my question. I have a roland VS-880 8 track hard disc recorder that i hate. Stupid lcd screen with forty buttons to push just to EQ the bass up a notch...man I miss my portaone. Anyway I have a rare op...
