i am building a small, battery-powered amp that i would like to be able to plug in, since i hate buying batteries. would i need anything more complicated than a power transformer with the appropriate voltage and current at the output? i am totally clueless.

has anybody here used cascade's other ribbon mic, the victor? it looks like the gain is about 10db higher....any other ideas on comparison?

If it's going to sit in your studio it's fine, but if you plan on taking it anywhere I'd advise considering something smaller and lighter.

it would probably be more lucrative to sell one of your kidneys....and that's something you would never, ever, ever have to regret, unlike selling your music gear, which you most certainly would regret. also, how did you end up with hans zimmer's drum machine?!

i disagree with the idea that what i want is stupid or selfish. unrealistic, yes, but my motivation is pure. i paid $300 for an rme card that does pretty much everything i want except run protools - if i could run m-powered on it, that would be super! but of course i can't, and digidesign will never...
