I am such a cynic, but i have always thought that Frampton Comes Alive and Cheap Trick at Budakon were studio albums with fake crowd noise faded in and out. They sure sound like that to me still. The crowd on those records seems so manipulated :screaming teenage girls with perfect reverb and balance...

Recommend replacement pots for SF VibroChamp
Hi , I thought of posting this to one of the guitar boards, but I respect the input of people here much more! I will be replacing the 5 pots on my Silverface Fender VibroChamp. I want the best standard reissue made. What type/brand of pot would you use and where can I buy them? Also, looking at the ...

Can anyone help me find a cable adaptor for this setup?
I am looking for a cable adaptor for a headphone out jack (a 1/8 in stereo mini plug male) to my powered monitors (two mono standard 1/4 jacks, OR, two XLR 3 pin female) jacks.
Has anyone seen such a thing? Would prefer like 6-10 feet. Any link appreciated.

Selecting virtual machine software for WIndows/Firebox
HI, I hope to buy a new computer that will run a home studio consisting of Windows XP (or 7), Presonus Firebox, and Traction. I realize there are all sorts of compatibility issues with firewire and audio and video drivers to work out, but one additional thing I want to do is to build a virtual machi...

Anyone who think Gibbons gets his tone from Crate amps and Danelectros will have a very expensive Christmas! The best BS I heard about Billy Gibbons was his promotion of a really crappy fuzz box made by some kid in Iowa or something. Someone released a picture of him playing LIVE with a TREE of thes...

The deltalab rack delays are definitely useful. They do a couple of things very very well. And, although they are eighties devices, they don't sound eighties at all. Yes, the number corresponds to milliseconds of delay, approximately. I have a stompbox for mine, that allows me to kick in one of the ...
