Whoa what the hell is that? It looks like a hearing aid. Correct. I have a hearing impairment due to a birth defect. But throughout my life my ears were acutely attuned to music. I wore hearing aids all my life, and back in 1995 I got a new digital hearing aid. The clarity of the aid was a big impr...

I do a lot of business travel, and there is a LOT of good music elsewhere that I do not hear on our regional radio. The homogenization of broadcast radio is a low mark in entertainment. I can't stand the crap on broadcast television either. I've since listened to other styles and have abandoned mass...

Today's modern guitars are notorious for smothering the audio spectrum and this is not something that EQ can fix. Do you find this problem to be amplifier / pickup-specific? Or due to playing style, etc.? I guess I haven't really found myself running into this (or my ears aren't good enough yet to ...

If you overdrive the reverb drive tube then you risk damaging the coils in the reverb tanks. Beware.

You can find VIPower caddies cheap there too.
Worthless website as it doesn't tell you that most sources are out of stock.

That website is spammy. Worse than spammy. I got a popup ad. They can be downright malicious - they can download a virus if you click anything on them (it happened to me elsewhere one too many times). Since I no longer trust popup windows, I closed the browser without reading anything on that page....

I used to own an SR-416 (the early version of the SRC w/o a pad switch). Nice sounding preamps and musical EQ, FAR better than a Mackie. Mostly for live work although I did record some pretty good sounding shows right off the subgroups. 16 channels wasn't enough so I moved up to a 32ch A&H GL-2200.

Two big differences are the converters and the algorithms. The cheaper units may also contain the same processors but some functions are disabled thus they are crippled versions of their big brothers. Don't think that re-enabling said functions will uncripple them as it is not that simple. Lexicon k...

The wrong power amp will cause tone loss before a speaker cable will, esp if the speaker has a very reactive load as part of its crossover network. I have witnessed this very thing, had a power amp with ample power fail to push a speaker then changed to a different power amp and it worked fine.

Bit rot. Someone gave me a CD-R twelve years ago. Six years later I ripped it, it was good then. Six more years later I pop the CD-R in the same player and it is all distorted. Lucky for me I had the ripped files and simply made another CD-R. It seems to depend on the brand of CD-R. I have older CD-...
