Yers is the second kickstarter I'm in on; my buddy's daughter's band (The Crane Wives) was the first.

Good luck!
Hey, thanks, man. I really appreciate it. I'll keep ya posted.

Thanks, man. If you can support that'd be awesome, but if not, a shout on facebook would be great too!

This is the first time I've written music to order (sort of). Should be interesting to see how it goes.

I've got a novel/music project going that needs your help

Hey all, I don't get to TOMB as much as I used to, but that's mainly because I've been working my tail off with a bunch of stuff, including finishing my first novel and getting it out into the world. I'm doing it a little differently; the main character is a singer/songwriter who's hit a rough patch...

Thanks for responding sad iron. This all turned out to be due to cpu whine on my macbook. When the firewire is plugged in, the whine changed frequency and became audible. I found a program called quitembp that gets rid of the whine, but the trade off is the computer fan kicks in a lot quicker. So f...

I have the pro 40 and have had no noise issues with it. yours is a problem i've not come across. I'd try it with another puter and see if you can replicate the problem.

Napoleon Dynamite/Radiohead mashup video by me

I really like the new Radiohead record, especially this song. In the shower this morning, I thought of how similar the video was to the Napoleon Dynamite dance scene, so I mashed them up. It was fun.

In my experience there are plenty of less expensive guitars out there that play and sound fine. Once you find one that stays in tune and give it a good setup plug it into a decent amp and put it in the hands of a decent player. I think tone is in the fingers more than in a $3000 piece of wood. Sure...

Cool article. And very pertinent as I just got some bad news about my main "show" acoustic that means I'll be guitar shopping soon. And I'm trying to ponder pricey guitar vs. not-so pricey. More later. I can say that the D-15 was a great choice for me. But I think I remember that they stopped makig...

A blog post about Les Pauls and other expensive guitars

Hey all,

I'm mostly mind-blathering via blog these days, but I thought you all might like to read my thoughts about whether the Les Paul is worth the $$ you have to spend on it. http://stuffidontneed.blogspot.com/2011 ... dough.html

Hope you're all doing great!

So, the R16 doesnt do that? I looked over the PDF yesterday and it mentions in several places that it is an 18 in/out machine. It alos mentions returning your track and mixing them down to 2 buss to be re-recorded to the host. No, the R16 will do it. I meant the only mackie Onyxi. I've been covetin...

OK, in reading further, it looks like only the Mackie 1640i will return individual signals to individual tracks via firewire. What? Wouldn't that be the reason to have a FW mixing desk? And I can only get that feature via the highest priced model? Argh.

The new FW interface blues: In need of second opinons.

OK, so i decided to slim down my set up a little while back, get a new, more updated FW interface with more pres onboard and hopefully an upgrade in overall sound as well. I did a lot of reading and decided to try the Focusrite Saffire Pro 40. My setup is an iMac with a couple external FW drives and...

Sadly, the iMac has no PCI ports, thus the need for chaining. Thanks for the idea though.
