Re: First Black Metal session.
Sounds like everything's been covered and I'm in envy. I would love to record a black or death metal band one of these days. That stuff's part of my roots! \\m// One other suggestion = you're going to need all the low end space you can get so high pass the cymbals, rhythm gtr, the rack toms, and any...

Re: Quality 8-Track Reel to Reel Recorder
A good friend of mine is selling a Tascam MS-16 1" 16-track in Hartford, CT for $1,100 or best offer. I did the calibration and it sounds great. Previous owner was a high school that barely used it. Re: Lofi Mics and Techniques
I used to use single headphones to mic up my whole drum kit back in the day when I only had one mic (radio shack variety) and was first getting into recording. It worked pretty awsome, like contact mics with distortion. Oh yeah, and I also had one other radioshac variety handheld Hi-z dynamic which ...

Re: Lofi Mics and Techniques
Cool vocal/voice technique although I suppose you could try it on anything... Call your own answering machine on a cell phone while in the same room as it. Move close to the speaker until you start to hear a nice lo-fi echo on the verge of feedback. Start singing! The distance is critical. Too far, ...

I would try someone from the list linked below. All reputable folk there and you could also try contacting John Klett for some excellent free advice like the kind he gives out on his forum @ recpit.prosoundweb.com
