Re: Blood Sugar Sex Magic and your F you indie spirit
One more thing, I was recording a band with two guitar players recently. We did bass, drums and guitar 1 live and were overdubbing guitar 2. We could not get a good tone on the second guitar player no matter what we tried (Les Paul, Marshal Stack, all tube). The other guitar player picked up the sam...

Re: Blood Sugar Sex Magic and your F you indie spirit
Man, excellent post. I totally agree with everything except as much as I loved that album back then, it feels really dated to me now. If I hear Under the Bridge one more time I will probably kill myself. Seriously though, very inspiring. I am getting ready to intern at a local studio so I can learn ...

Re: Pacific Pro Audio Ribbon Group Buy Instructions
Hey just a thought here, the VTB-1 has a switch on the back specifically for ribbon mic's. I happen to have a pair so I am planning on using these for these babies till I move up. I know nobody wants to drop any more cash buyng new amps, but maybe someone has experience with these on ribbons and can...

Re: recording for fun or career.
Same story here. Home studio that I mostly use for my own band and friends bands or recommendations. I put all of what I charge, which isn't much, back into the equipment. I still play in bands and love it, but I really love the recording aspect. Ever since I first stepped into a "decent" studio, I ...

I agree. This is sooo much better than cable. I should have been on these messageboards years ago. . .
I suggest you call PPA and directly and speak to Garth if you have any questions.

Re: Pacific Pro Ribbon deal by versuviusx please read!
See, I don't understand the flag waving thing. I guess if some of the people going with PPA have stated in the past, "fuck the man I'm indie", than I can understand the irony. But i don't really see that. I see a bunch of people who got fired up about a deal and I think almost everyone involved thou...

Re: Pacific Pro Ribbon deal by versuviusx please read!
I originally made the posting saying, "hey why don't we contact PPA and ask them what type of deal they would give us based on a bulk buy?" I didn't actually make contact with em, and I hadn't even heard of them till this thread/the new tape op ad, but I was very happy with the offer they made. I am...

I agree with Beard of Bee's, best way to find out is to track through it. If you want more info though, go the the Tascam Analoge Forums. I can't do links but here is the address: http://www.vaporpark.com/invboard/index.php?s=24f9ad19c09f1c440dc57b66669ec9e5&showforum=40 The Ghost of FM guy over the...

Re: Ribbon Mic Mass Hysteria
The hysteria started on trying to go directly to the factory where they are made. Then PPA stepped up and said instead of trying to go direct, we can offer you a really good deal due to the overwhelming response. We can take the money and ship direct to your door, the Pacific Pro Audio R-One Riboon ...

012's would be great. I was thinking I may be the only person on this board that doesn't have a pair.
Yeah, the RNP is my next purchase actually. Pushed back slightly due to the mic purchase.

Hey Devlars,
I think Serendipity was referring to the fact that your link points to the Nickleback thing and not another forum. Maybe that was your intention?

Re: Tape-Op Co-Op ideas
I think FMR probably operates on a thin margin, but of course I would love to get a RNC. I think the utility items would be great, mic stands, mic cables but the one thing it seems everyone is always requesting are good mic pre's at a decent price. Seems like if we could score something like that, t...
