bass di 101

Get your bass set up for optimum playing ease, and intonation, plug it into the best d.i. box you can get your hands on,I like the Radial JDI, cause its the one I have, practice watching the meter while you play to get an idea about playing with consitant dynamics. Relax and play music.

Well I can see I've been recording way too hot. I would like to see familiar songs recorded into protools. so i could compare classic wave forms with the ones seen on my ptle screen.I know this sounds pretty dumb, but it would be fun to compare the bass track and maybe rythym guitar track wave forms ...

The silk button has something to do with negative feed back according to the users pamphlet that came with the Portico. This is something electronic circuit people understand. All I know is Precision into Jdi or Bassbone into the Portico with silk engaged creates a buttery, velvety, tone.Don't have ...

This may be a little off topic but our band is in this cd project where we've recorded the basic tracks at my place on PTLE, and the guitar player is adding overdubs at his place using Sonar. So far I just export the audio files onto a cd-r, he takes them, imorts them into his Sonar Rig and they wor...

How do these plug in devices stand up sonically to their hardware counter parts? My setup is simple with only the plug ins bundled with my PTLE 6.9. Limited experience with plug ins. Is there any common wisdom on plug ins versus hardware. You get more devices for the dollar with the UAD, but are we ...

Just copy a good kick, trim it so its nice and clean, then use tab to transient and just keep pasting it in over the old kick and you're golden. Yep. If you dont have/want to have soundreplacer and/or drumagog... That is the way to do it. Are you charging yourself? ;) It is suprisingly fast to do t...

I'm not charging myself and on this track I'ld have to give the money back because of this clipped kick. Thanks for the tab to transient tip,it really is magical. do I have to trim and fade each one to prevent pops? Thanks everyone.

Its a very syncopated bass drum ,won't say pattern because it is mighty random, cutting and pasting would be time consuming and hit and miss given my editing chops. I'll have to look into some of these audio rrepair plugs.

Don't think I have sound replacer and would have to learn to use it. My plug ins are limited to what came with ptle. is it possible to use the clipped track to trigger a drum machine thru Midi, or would bleed from the rest of the kit onto the kick track interfere with midi communication?

Clipped Kick in Protools

Hey everybody, Listening to a track our band recorded with me playing bass and riding faders, i found the kick drum clipped! Horror, whoa is me, wrenching of hands. Attempting to salvage the work done, hours spent overdubbing bass and guitar parts, (I know the rythym tracks should have been thoroughl...
