Re: diy mics - big fun for all!
Hi folks, I'm sorry to do this here (not really contributing to the thread), but does anyone know where to find the updated part numbers for the TO diy mics? I built a pair for myself a while ago, gave'em away to friend, and now I can't find issue 16 with the article. A buddy of mine has the fever f...

Re: Joe Meek VC3Q
Ya know, I went to eBay and realized that some went for $125 a little while ago, so I'll split the difference with anyone that's interested.

Joe Meek VC3Q
Hi everybody,
I've got a VC3Q that needs to go. Near mint condition. This model that includes mic pre, compressor, and eq (no enhancer!).
$150 shipped in the continental US. FWIW, they go between $160 - $175 + shipping on the eBay.
Have a good one.

Sorry for being dense, but from the previous posts I'm still trying to figure out whether or not you track with these in real time, with fairly low latency...?
Anyone know or have experiences with this?
thanks,

Big Box...?
Hi folks,
Has anyone bought the Big Box deal? I want it, but musician's enemy can't tell me what version of 5 is included. If it's between 5 and 5.1.3, then it appears it's non-upgradable according to emagic website...
Anyone know?
thanks,

Re: New Spirit E-series mixers?
Yeah, I was looking at both two...the E series is a lot less expensive. What sold me on M-series are the selected EQ points. Strangly, the e series mid goes to 140 hz (which I like), whereas the m-series only dips to 240 hz (which I wish went to 120 hz). The high on the e series only stretches to ar...

aardvark on a mac
Anybody using either of the 4 input aardvark cards (lx6/directpro) on desktop mac (g4, etc.)? There appear to beta mac 9 drivers, but I'm getting a little gunshy...especially when the RME stuff is similarly priced... Any testimonials for either? The lynx stuff looks great, but it's more than I want ...

Now, Peak OTOH runs VST plugins, so there you'll have no problem with the Waves setup.
Do you mean that Waves plugs (for os 9) will run in a osx compatible sequencer? I didn't think Waves (even VST) would work in OSX, period.

Re: mini-me...apogee pres...opinions
Thanks, Jeff! You're right about the mini-jack being silly. I figured I could route that into my mixer and then separate it for monitor/headphones, etc. I'm really just trying to figure out if the mini-me would be very effective for tracking. Like, if the pres/soft limit functions are good enough fo...

mini-me...apogee pres...opinions
Hi folks, I've got the fever for the apogee mini me. I guess I'm just wondering if anyone has experience with these? Fletcher gives the pres a thumbs up...and I'd love to add a couple of clean pre's to my little ghetto studio. He also gave a thumbs up to the soft limit functions. The problem is, I l...

EELDIP! YOU WERE IN KNODEL? When it was a three piece? I saw you guys at Satyricon once and the Crystal Ballroom another. Man, those were easily some of favorite shows during the two years I kicked around P-Town.
Hats off, se?or.

Many would say www.allmusic.com is fairly inclusive, but I've seen some pretty huge descrepencies - with my own bands and others. The descrepencies are so weird it seems like technological problem rather than an editorial one...

I can't afford it...I already have a computer to record on. But if I had $450, I'd drop it on one of these things. I heard a record made on one of these and almost bought one...
