Propagandhi slam pit.

I got sucked in by the pit. I ended up front center. My earplugs got knocked out of my ears in the first 2 minutes. 'Twas the nicest pit I've ever been in. I mean people were very cordial. I got gently kicked in the head a dozen times. I also noticed that Chris (vocals/guitar) uses an RNC for his st...

Ah ha. I see what you're saying. Well I've had this thing open and done so many repairs on it that I can't even count. So i'm not really afraid of getting under the hood. I also am running 24 inputs from my DAW back to it for mixing. I have the 3200 and use 25-32 for the pres and misc. mixdown BS. I...

Toft Audio console mod question???

Is it possible to remove and jumper the mic pre op-amp on each channel input in order to make each channel a "micpreless" input-only channel. Would this mod make the quieter and open up the headroom of the console? This question is obviously inspired by the recent issue of the mag. Just wondering if...

is there a Cubase smart tool?

I come from the land of PT LE. I was at a friends checking out Cubase 4 and saw him editing with drop down windows and manual tool swaps for stuff that seemed automatic or way simpler with the PT smart tool edit setup. Does Cubase have this type of option or is editing just a little "slower" in Cuba...

I just built a Guytronix Gilmore Jr. 1/2 watt guitar amp ($350). It's really great sounding. Gets distorted at around 7 o'clock and melts vintage style when cranked. It never even comes close to being loud. Perfect for recording anytime, especially when you want or need to be quiet. A single 12ax7 d...

Well maybe they're just expensive. To be honest I wasn't too sure that installing really expensive pots and caps would be worth it either. But I'm way happier with sound of my bass after a complete pot/cap (same values) replacement, and tidy re-wiring job. It wasn't bad or noisy at all before hand, ...

Schematic drafting program for Mac?

I'm looking for a cheap and very simple program for drafting/drawing things like wiring diagrams, amp layouts, circuits, stage setups, guitar wiring layouts, studio design, etc. etc.

It must be simple 'cause I'm a Mac.

Any suggestions?

Thanks
Dave

I want to make my own paper/foil in oil caps. Anybody?

I just bought and installed a few Alessandro Products reproduction vintage strat paper/foil in oil tone capacitors in my and my band mates guitars. They sound really awesome but they're $50 a peace. Anybody ever build a capacitor before? They look so simple and the materials list seems so small. I h...

I'm back. Wow. Lots of good info here in this forum. I've gained useful knowledge yet again. Thanks everyone. I ended up booting from disc. I wiped the C drive and reinstalled everything, PT (7.3cs7), tech utilities, mouse, video card driver, etc. and voila. It works again. I'm not unhappy anymore. ...

OK. Sounds good. Well then, can I run PT and Cubase on XP at the same time? If so, can I just drag regions from open PT sessions to/from open Cubase sessions? Or, how about dragging consolidated PT wav files (regions) to a separate folder on the desktop and then dragging them from there to open trac...
