Hey turing, I'm not familiar with the series one but my advice: Hold out for the series II. Theres no phantom on series one if memory is in order. The two would keep you happy for a long time, its the reason we have two of them. The first sounded so good and was so easy to use we just wanted to expa...

Yes, there are several options available on the same PCB. You need to know what you want and what you're doing. If in doubt, refer to groupdiy.org - there's a lot of help to find over there. Jakob E. groupdiy has become an incredible resource for builds and maintenance. Anyone interested in DIY wou...

Yeah Rich that thing is a monster, right now the 24 channel consoles PSU is totally screwed, we decided to rebuild it from scratch using the other one as a sample, which is completely different from the schematic and bad PSU. Its funny that you mentioned that your now on a Nevie and miss the sound o...

Rich
RICH Youre crackin me up with the desciption of the EQ's. I think everyone who has put their hands on our EQ's thinks the low freq section is a parametric low. They take forever to figure out that there is a hpf on it. They always say somthings wrong with this EQ. I say read the labels... Another gr...

Sorry bud
Man it sound like its pretty F'd up at this point. I guess in the end it really would depend on your technical prowress. I would say no. One thing about the left is louder issue, theres a small bank of 4 pushbutton switches that control remix, replay, dim and mono, one of our series 2's has a proble...

Nice Find
These arent that easy to find. At the studio we have two of them, a 24 and a 16 channel and love them. One is modded with 4 extra aux's for more fun. Nice, actually really nice pres that I have no problem using next to an api or telefunken... I've never heard the sweep style EQ as ours has the stand...

http://www.grainger.com/Grainger/items/5LJ02 I use one of these tools for stripping cables. It comes in handy for those who want to build a lot of gear and wire up their rooms. The link goes to a tool that'll strip 10 - 22 AWG. If you buy multi core you'll need to strip the main outer insulation fol...
