Re: Powered monitors...upside down!?

I use a pair of JBL STUDIO? SERIES ? S38II speakers as monitors. I know your not supposed to use home speakers, but I had these before I started, and I don't have any money to buy a new set. Are these speakers really that bad? am I really hurting myself useing them? You can check the specs here. htt...

Re: Not so dry basement. HELP Please!

that sounds like a good idea, buth how tall is your room now? Before the puddle came into play I was planning on splitting the room down the middle with sheetrock anyways, maybe I could part with maybe 2 inches off the floor but thats all. Luckily I still have about 17x27 feet of room to play with. ...

Re: Not so dry basement. HELP Please!

Thanks for your reply but its a row home. There is no space from one house to the next, so how can the water make it down to the basement without doing any other damage? It's leaking in I think, from the middle/back neighbor side wall. My only guess if that there is a roof problem and the water is l...

Not so dry basement. HELP Please!

I recently moved into a new house(renting). I was told that the basement was dry. After some recent rain I noticed some water gathered. It's only on one side and its a localized puddle. Of course I'm going to tell the landlord. He has been great so far so I don't expect much trouble. My question is....

Re: New Deftones Album? Comments?

I haven't bought it yet, and I don't think that I will. A friend in my band had it and we listened to it before practice. After we were done with it I threw in the new pleasure fever ala Larry Crane. They both don't know anything about recording and or tapeop but they loved the CD. Every song sounde...

Re: New Deftones Album? Comments?

I think the new CD is a great example of modern mastering. The topic has been pretty hot lately. The CD doesn't get bigger when you turn it up. Is this just a problem when recording really loud records and mastering them to a low volume? I know it's different kind of music but when I listen to Soul ...

Just take some old spice Pure Sport to them. I have yet to smell a funk that old spice(pure sport) couldn't handle.

If you can't kill the mold.... mask it.

I really like the songs. Darkened Heart Vessels:bass is really boooming...Maybe to much of a good thing? shopping spree:I really like the guitars. Oh and the mp3 quality sounds noticably bad. Re: speaker as a mic problems

This is all very interesting, but I lack the knowledge to fully understand what is going on here. Can some please explain in depth how you are wiring the speaker as a mic? I know that it works. But what would be the easist way to use a house speaker as a mic? Oh and is there any risk of killing the ...
