Good idea. A bit too 'ghetto' for me, though. Hoping for a solution that is not noticeable.

PS: Am I the only one getting an 'Authentication Required' dialog when doing -anything- in this forum?

Gluing Foam Earpiece Sony Headphones V600

Hi, I've got Sony V600 headphones. The foam earpieces have cloth wrapping which holds them to the metal of each earpiece. But the material slides off ever few days. Any recommendations on a safe/secure glue to hold the cloth in place? By 'safe' I mean: a) Won't damage black metal b) Is easily remova...

Yes, I did have an acne problem as a teenager.
Little known fact: Macgyver used that same trick to escape a Turkish jail cell. Clear skin? He'd a been a goner. :D

Intriguing. Seems a bit pricey, though for my needs. Thanks. ---JC None of those lube solutions are conductive, just the opposite. Nearly all screw on capsules require a good electrical contact to the threads/casing. Insulating those threads with lubes may lead to other probles and noise. I use Stab...

Modifying Yamaha MIDI Expression Pedal

I'm trying to use a Yamaha Expression pedal with my CME-UF8 keyboard midi controller... which then goes into Cubase 8. What happens when I record data is that it only records from 0 to 50%. IOW: When the pedal travels from 0-100 Cubase sees that as 0-50% rather than going from 0-100. My old expressi...

There's gonna come a time when I'll dump my ancient Lucid A/Ds and my ancient RME 9652 and I'll go to 96k and get a 'real' patch bay/controller/amp and have audio over Cat6. This will probably happen about the time that everyone else is recording at 384. Until then? I ain't spending one more pfennig...

SOLD! Sir, if there was an Internet Old School Helpfulness Award. You'd win the 2015 statue. [rant]When I started interwebbing in like 1978, this sort of people going out of their way thing was COMMON. Nowadays, it's -so- rare. 99% of internet junk I read is snark, porn or 2 word answers. If you can...

Perhaps I'm missing the point here, but why not just pan the entire mix in your daw to the side of the phones you want to monitor with? Solves the bleed from unused side problem. That's a great idea. Unfortunately, my headphone amp doesn't have a pan knob. I use Cubase. I -can- pan the mix left/rig...

So I want something I can enable/disable without touching the DAW and losing concentration. I've got enough to think about whilst tryng to sing. Part of me wants to argue in favor of elaborate DAW automation, because the internet. The other part of me is putting together a parts list for a headphon...

I'm ITB. I'll try to make this simple as possible. IDEALLY, what I want is an enclosure the size of a female XLR connector, with an instrument jack on each end and a little SPST switch sticking out the side which simply shorts one side of the stereo signal. How can I make something like -that-? AFA ...

Thanks. I guess I'll avoid the phase thing. But wrt may main request: turning off one side of headphones switch. Does someone have a source for an in-line box (a la Whirlwind or Proco) for the SPST? I don't want some clunky footswitch or table box that will inevitably get knocked over or stepped on....

Independently. I just was hoping to have both functions in one box to save space and I guess. cut down on noise. The phase thing is more curiosity... I just never experienced it before. I actually -need- the channel cut-out switch. If I can't have both I only want this one. TIA, ---JC Are you lookin...

I like to use a pencil, preferably a artist pencil with thick lead but any will do, and scrape the lead witha razor knife - I use this on guitar saddles and nuts, also. I'd totally forgotten about this trick. Makes sense! I also want to thank everyone else for replying. For some reason, I never see...
