Fiction Family - When She's Near
Fiction Family - When She's Near
I love the alternative style percussion/drum tracks this tune uses - shaker, bass drum, sleigh bells etc.

Clever Cable Management
Saw this and thought it was clever: http://turquoisebird.tumblr.com/post/465027359 Anyone have any other tips/tricks for cable management? One of the best things I did was get some sturdy metal coat hooks and install them in a closet in my little recording space. I can hang coiled mic cables and mor...

Interesting...
I haven't listened to the whole release but I immediately loved the "Drunk Girls" single when I first heard it on the radio. I confess to knowing almost nothing about this guy but doing a little research about the song I saw older fans were not as taken with it off the bat it seemed from comments on...

Cool but....
This is cool but I wondered about the legality/ownership of this tape?
Is the tape owned by Ernie? Does Sir Paul know about it? (would he care?)

Re: Used the Fathead for the first time...
Did you get the Lundahl version? I picked one of these up last summer. I'm not sold on it. Seems sort of mid-rangey and loose. It's definitely NOT got the Coles 4038 sound. Yes - I got the Lundahl upgrade. I've only had it a few days so can't really pass too much judgment on it yet. I liked what I ...

Used the Fathead for the first time...
I just got my new Fathead II ribbon on Monday and had a chance to test it out last night. Mic'd up my little Orange Micro and recorded some Telecaster for the latest "Song of the Month" project.
I'm very pleased with the results.

Spoon - Transference
Been listening to the latest Spoon release "Transference" I love the sound of this record and as always with a Spoon disc - I love all the little studio noises and between song mystery. I love Jim Eno's drum sounds too. I always forget how sort of "dance" oriented they are for an indie rock band - s...

Philly gig...
Where in Philly will you be playing? Will this be with Mitch? I got myself one of those "Roto X Cymbal Vault" cases from SKB last year since we seem to be flying in for one-off gigs most of the time these days. I've checked it in with no trouble. Then again I don't really have any vintage cymbals to...

Um...
Uh...I am unaware of a place to buy cymbals in the Philly area called Waddell's. That doesn't mean it never existed just that I have never heard of it... Are you familiar with Steve Weiss Music? They're just North of the city. I have friends that work there. http://www.steveweissmusic.com/ I just or...
