By the way, is that Scott Walker in your avatar? Thanks for the replies. I was using the tremelo... I guess I'm looking for more 'randomness' to the panning, like wild right left center left slow right etc. but I guess it could be automated. There was a neat feature to an old Alesis ModFX (the auto...

Yeah I think I read $90k for the 32 channel somewhere. That's tough because $90k buys you a hell of a nice used console now a days. True. Now it can buy you a hell of a new console. An API Legacy Plus is my dream machine, but is too much $ for me (now). Something like the 1608 in the 32 ch version ...

DOD R885 Analog Delay
This is the rack form of the famed DOD 585 delay pedal. It has an additional delay circuit and some more options on it. Great piece, but its redundant for me and I need to clear up rack space. Its a little rough in appearance but sounds killer. You can do cool stuff like run audio in through jacks t...

Fair feedback... I'm a fan of dryer vocals and drums myself. Any improvements? Well the immediate impression the mix gives is a poor one as the snare sounds out of phase. It lacks body and it sounds like the mixer tried to make it up by putting this crazy dense/long hall on it. Its just too much an...

a "pro studio" IS NOT required anymore, i hate to say it, im a old school big studio guy, but im sorry, im saying it, NOT REQUIRED  anymore. :( Well that depends on what you're trying to accomplish, really. And if you want to sound good, what really is required is a PROfessional, not...

I'm with Tony. Get the mix to sound as close as you can get to a final product BEFORE going to the ME. With a good mix, the ME should have to do very little. All the mastering in the world is not going to make an ok mix sound great. But even without mastering, a great mix will still sound great. Tha...
