If velocity or volume of air escape is teh problem, then one of the Orange County snares with teh huge holes should solve the problem. Appropos of my previous posts, I doubt that it will.

Slight disagreement with the general course of this thread. It's not a matter of hitting too hard, so much as it is a matter of not allowing the stick to rebound freely. To put it another way, burying the stick in the head, which kills the sound and the head. It's a technique failure not a force iss...

I have both. Great little pedals at a truly good price. Will probably die under heavy use, as doo many of the Dano pedals. I suspect that the history is bullshit.

The chief problem making any comparison is the fact that the Toft hasn't actually hit the streets yet. Apparently some are in beta test, but not even all the first batch test units are out yet. As far as the supposed features go, the main difference seems to lie in the modularity of the construction...

I have a pair of the larger ones. I really like listening to rock on them, but I'm far from certain I'll ever want to mix on them. They sound pretty sweet, especially cymbals and such. When I listened to them in the store, they sounded pretty bass weak. At home, in admittedly not the best positioine...

Or look for systems from Niche, Mackie or Behringer, that do the same thing. Pretty much only gets you mutes and volume though.

As long as you keep the volume low enough, you should be able to do full range through your guitar amp, without a problem. Even a champ will do.
