Anyone doing/done studio construction?

So I'm walling off part of my big mutha garage, and I've been spending a lot of time at the Sayles webboard. Good stuff over there, though I swear there isn't been a single "best porn sites" topic on the whole damned board. So I'm gonna start pounding my thumb this weekend. Anyone have any general a...

Re: I like Barack Obama

Obama likes tax reform. He's not to be trusted until he starts producing. If he coasts on a moderate's agenda in order to be a safe bet for a future presidential bid then he aint worth the hype. Let's see him use that smooth, likeable personality to create some effective defense against the Right, eh?

Re: U2

I met Bono once on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in DC. Spotted him at least 500 feet away walking around the pool. Got the nerve to say hello and something like "when's the next record coming out?" He was nice, shook my hand and said "soon." Then he kept walking (he was with an older guy, looke...

Let go of your shame, cause she's not twenty!

Cute as a button (aw!), but my dog dances better than that.

Re: Bush, champion of secularism in the world

Christopher Hitchens is an apologist for militarized globalization. It has been said before, but bears repeating, that there are much more dangerous Islamist countries in the world than Iraq. Iran, for example. Syria, etc. Why choose Iraq? Iraq was easy (still is, actually). Taking over Iraq with le...

Re: i can't even think about this right now....

I wonder why the Christian Bush supporters (note: I am a born-again, and I vehemently oppose Bush) don't seem to have a problem with their obvious Bush idolatry. We hear about the idolatry of the left: autonomy, self-justification, lust, etc., but no one ever seems to have a problem with the gazing ...

I teach 8th grade US History, and I teach both theories at the beginning of the year (along with some Native American "crow" stories thrown in). There is nothing inherently wrong with Creationism. It is as scientifically sound as evolution, actually. I would caution ya'll from taking this election t...

Re: any good online places to purchase vinyl?

Gotta throw in a link for local favorite www.parasol.com. Lots of new releases, with a fair amount on vinyl. They also have a wide selection of 80s and 90s alterna singles, etc. Nice folks as well.

Actually, you might want to buy those manufactured goods as collector's items. Four more years of this shit and there won't be a factory left in this country.

Re: The Innocence Mission

One of my favorite bands - discovered them at a Cornerstone (a christian music fest) a few years back. One of the songs off their last album has this line: "Walking around. You know I've had enough of this trouble. Following me high and low. Now it can go." Absolutely perfect line, in every sense of...

Re: Class act(neo) Conservative mailers

Wow, ouch, and wtf? Do people really talk like this in real-life or is just on computers? I'm voting for Kerry because I want to be safer. Neither of these monkeys will even attempt to get a handle on the dismantling of our manufacturing base, so it comes down to security. Bush has shown that he is ...

Re: Osama: He's back

I think it should help Kerry because I personally can't believe this MF is still breathing. How do you knock down the twin towers, alter the course of world history, and still show up three years later with a little video? If there was ever any doubt that the War on Terror was a corporate-sponsored ...

Re: STILL don't think the media is biased against Bush?

The other thing to keep in mind is that this is not an isolated incident of incompetence. The Iraq thing has had a pattern of incompetence since the fall of Baghdad, and this kind of thing fits the pattern. Patterns are very important in history, as they allow us to better understand the motivations...

Funny, this forum just became more informative than all cable news media combined.

Re: Hilarious: John Stewart on Crossfire- must see

The media is definitely broken. I came home today for lunch, and flipped on CNN to catch some news and its ... a Bush campaign speech LIVE!. So I try CNBC - same speech. MSNBC? The same. Fox? Of course. What the fuck? Why is the media so stupid that they believe Bush's handlers when they say he is g...
