Getting clicks when recording audio on REAPER
I've tried adjusting the buffer sizes but am not sure if I am doing it right, nothing seems to stop the clicks/pops. I just installed 3.75, an earlier version was working great before but my hard drive crashed and I have been setting the computer up again. My interface is an M-Audio Fast Track Ultra...

Now I got it working, but...
for some reason I can't get it to record a mic level signal, even though I got it specifically because it has preamps already. It records fine with a line level input. The only software I have that I can figure out at the moment is Reaper. I have cubase too but can make no sense of it. HA! I've done...

My M-Audio fast track ultra 8r came without a power supply
I bought it new on ebay, but it came with an AC cord instead of the DC power supply. The booklet says it was supposed to come with a 9VDC 4000mA power supply, the plug in the back says 3.5A. I'mhaving trouble locating any information regarding this adaptor

Mixing through a mic pre
My band is doing some project studio mixes, recorded on DA-38s and being mixed through a Mackie board (one with parametric eqs). Then the signal goes through a Vintech Audio Dual 72 mic preamp into an aging semi-professional standalone cd recorder. On our latest mix, some kind of weird high end-y di...

Tape residue problem
I am currently borrowing a Tascam 38 1/2" reel to reel 8 track for my band's recording project. We have been using RMG Studio Master 900 tape. For some reason there is a high level of tape residue build-up on all three tape heads, requiring constant cleaning. Is this normal or could it be a problem ...

I can't afford one of those right now, could I maybe get away with one of these? http://www.qualitycables.com/productdetails1.cfm?sku=USBG-5X1&cats=121&catid=121%2C637%2C136 or would it be better to replace the internal card with the same kind? Eventually I'd like to get a better i/o method but it's...

The input is just a standard stereo 1/8" mini plug, what the computer came with. I've tried different cables, different sound sources, but it's the same problem every time. By "pins" i mean the female mini-plugs. I don't use surround sound, but I think that's what the sound card is designed for. It'...

Weird soundcard problem
Just the other day for some reason my computer stopped running the right side of audio into the computer. It plays back fine but only the left side can be heard or recorded when I run external sound into it. It's a gateway media center computer running XP, purchased new a year ago. I've tried reinst...

Another laptop I used in the past didn't have this problem, it recorded stereo line in signals through the mic input fine when I turned off the mic boost. Desktop PCs seem to usually have a separate line input in addition to the mic input. I just need to record two separate line-in signals, but only...

Internal CDRW w/ Windows 95
My dad gave me a cdrw for my birthday and I'm having trouble getting it to work. The CD that came with it just got spit out by the computer. I downloaded a program that seemed to be working but after trying to burn a data disc it would never finish the finalizing phase. I thought it was because the ...
