If it sounds right it is right, that is all. Don't let second guessing get in the way of your ears.

Don't send it too many things, pick bass, kick or what have you and use it sparingly or it can be a mess.

On planet Mac Wave Editor with lame is pretty good.

The protools click plug sucks but the marimba #2 preset seems to be the most tolerable.

the Oktavamod mk012 seems like it can take a bit more than the stock one. I have used on HH SN and GTR and normally like the results. I would say that the Octavamod mk012 is smoother than the km184 and the stock mk012 but not sparkly or rich as a km84. You can never have too many mics more mic choic...

If you like the RE20 get an RE20. I am not a fan of Heil mics... any of them. Sell the PR30 put the $$$ in to the RE20 ( I know I will catch hell for not being in to Heil but it all just seems like hype to me. Tried the PR20, 30, 40 and not my bag. )

I have used both I think the Hamptone works on more sources but the v78s is super fat but can have low output depending on how its gain-staged.
