It doesn't seem like anyone here has seen it but, there was a Guitar World cover story that was a Jack White/Jimmy Page joint interview. It wasn't heavy on nuts-and-bolts. However, it did cover some of the more "this is my take on recording" elements. Very interesting.

The soundtrack for Kurosawa's Yohjimbo is always been a favorite of mine. There's also a soundtrack record that came out for a fake Logan's Run sequel that was done by some of the Jellyfish and Redd Kros guy's. The liner notes contain a basic synopsis of said film. Jason Falkner is on one song and a...

Not sure if it counts as folky but, "F*** You, Aurora" by the Alkaline Trio has always been a favorite. The Dambuilders were trying to get a song for each state... Whoever brought up "Wichita" by the Jayhawks reminided me of "Nevada, California" which is a Jayhawks song as well. "Suprise, Arizona" b...

I second the ehx polychorus. It runs the gamut from totally usable to "Who dumped pudding on my Coctuea Twins albums?" sort of sounds. The Ibanez PM7 Phase Modulator is equally gnarly. Either one of those will cover a good bit of territory.

I can't help but think that the way the intial post lays out a major-label(money, nice gear, ect) Goliath against a home-amatuer(no money, cheapo gear, ect) David is a flawed way of looking at the whole discussion. It would seem to me that a person with the major label machine who is recording Ashle...

Wasn't there a Pinky and the Brain homage to the Orsen Welles commercial that is part of the 365 days project? Just that someone thought to put a parody of that together usually puts a smile on my face.

The really amazing thing about In the Aeroplane Over the Sea is that I thing Robert from Apples in Stereo may have been using a Mackie board on that record. Everytime I try to wrap my brain around that this is all I come up with :worthy: The first Varnaline record(Man of Sin) was recorded on four tr...

Wait a sec... Yankee Hotel Foxtrot tracked on ADAT? I'm not so sure that's the case. What have you seen/heard that makes you think that adats are what they recorded on? That said I think Bob Pollard would have jumped on one of these new Line 6 boxes like a fat kid on a box of Twinkies(if they had be...

jca: I think someone's might have to bid to get it over the reserve. Also, I think the seller has zero feedbacks. Maybe no big deal but, worth noting.

Fletcher: In one post you point out that you think there will be a severe lack of balls on playback from the digital system. Then, you go on to say the test will not be an analog vs. digital debate. Taking both of those things into account, it takes a lot of nerve to take call someone else's logic i...
