Yes-Latency is what causes your sound card to crackle and skip as it records audio....especially in large numbers of tracks or with a slow computer or with a broke WD hard drive. THe crackles that latency causes are ok.....but when they throw off the sync that is too slow of a computer. It shouldn't...

clicks could be a mic going bad, It just happened to me. I thought it was everything else except my mic....cause that was expensive and how would a mic go bad? Yeah cool.....give us a day I will check back here tomorrow but can't really spend time until tomorrow night. Also If you let us know what program you record in some of us might be able to send you back the mix in that program,...... People love to mix for practice so no money is usually needed........

Well I would also shoot for 0Db and keep in mind that usually a movie will be turning down audio tracks as the other movie sound comes in......so they will have a sound guy that will be doing all of that work and I am sure if you gave him a track that is at 0db he would be happy........and if it was...
