Re: LOUD 11-13hz generator?
Hey, why not just build something like a pulse jet that you run at 11 Hz? Just have a horn, and at the throat have an explosion every eleventh of a second. It would be plenty loud. Awesome idea. It would be dangerous, though. I wonder what the V-1 Flying Bomb sounded like? here's some info on pulse...

The HP 204C sine wave oscillator covers 5 Hz - 1.2 MHz. It produces a very pure sine wave - no overtones. I've seen them on eBay for about $20. I have a set of 3 as part of my performance rig. Covering low low frequencies in a rock club can have strange effects - one time a shower of plaster particl...

Re: Bit rate.
bits can be very simple. they are just a measure of dynamics on recrord. In theory the 'silence' on 144dB is softer. simply take the bitrate and multiply by 6 and thats maximum dynamic range in dB 16bits(6)=96dB 24bits(6)=144dB :D sure, you can get in depth.but thats about all you need to know 144 ...

Re: so i just sat and listened to a reference tone disc.
Look for standing wave patterns by playing continuous bass waves. 30,40,50,60 Hz sine waves etc... walk around the room and hear where the peaks and valleys are. maybe you can find a spot where they all seem to agree? I'm too scared to do this in my apartment - it would be depressing. However, I tri...

Re: New favorite beer
I can only afford Lone Star lately, $3.59 / 6 x 16 oz. If you're not in Texas and haven't tried it, don't bother. When I was in Oregon I enjoyed plenty of McMenamins, Deschutes, Full Sail, Rogue, Saxer. When you want to do 0-60 in 12 oz, Saxer Bock (7.2% ABV) does the job almost as well as Optimator...
