My Les Paul Junior had this problem - probably still does but I sold it. When it went out of tune I could push down on the string behind the nut and it would be back in.

I usually record two parallel direct tracks if I want the option to reamp later. The first is dry - I don't monitor through that one. The second is run through my pedals - I monitor this one and am also not opposed to using it in the final mix too. I think this is relatively common practice - how it...

Thanks very much for both of your replies. Based on the experience from someone on a different message board, I ordered a new reverb driver transformer. Installing that will require me to touch up the joints on the power tube socket. So, if it works you guys can both take credit. Czakrisson--I actua...

Weak reverb from my Fender '63 reissue reverb tank

For some time I have been having some trouble with my Fender ?63 Reissue Reverb tank. I?m getting a pretty weak mix of wet to dry signal. That is, even with the controls cranked up I?m getting a strong dry signal but you can only hear a bit of reverb decay ? about that of an amp?s reverb ? way. The ...

Figure 8 uses

Curious for what applications figure 8 mics are well-suited. M/S I understand is one common use. Also placing unwanted elements in its null spots. But what else?

I have a Beyer m130 that I bought for M/S in my one-person productions but what else should I check it on? Thanks.

Interesting there aren't more good podcasts on music.

Podcasts

Curious what Podcasts are of interest to individuals in the TOMB community. I tend to listen to comedy-related Podcasts -- WTF and Topics (with Michael Ian Black and Michael Showalter) are my regulars but I would be interested in learning about anything else good. Music related, comedy, politics... ...

Ah yeah, looking again, that's it. I think the use of the DSLR with the wide aperature is what I was seeing but didn't make the connection. Anyway, looks cool.

No need to apologize for the self-promotion. Not enough quality self-promotion on this board these days. The cover sounds really good. Not sure if I have the ears to comment on the vocal mic specifically but very nice production and execution. I'm most interested in your video process. What kind of ...

I'd love to hear some of that. Where can it be found?
Hilarious.

Is this the right thread to bring up how amazing the bass tone is on the Beatles "Rain" single? Kind of a different sound than the wrecking crew stuff, way more sustain, but man.... best bass tone ever? Yep, Rain and Paperback Writer I think were the white elephant speaker. RAD sound. Wow. I bet th...

Is there any concern about having the something heavy causing the drum to go out-of-round?

This is really great!

Quite an assortment of instruments. Did the two of you play everything?
