Re: 703 panel trap construction advice
check out ethanwiner.com for advice and principals on homemade bass traps. He was on the panel for budget acoustics at the last conference and knows what he's talking about. The deeper the frame, the lower the freq. absorbed, as long as the insul. is pulled out toward the front panel without touchin...

Re: Budget All-Purpose Microphone
Does anyone have any thoughts on alternatives to 57's at the lower (<$100) dynamic end? Re: Quiet Air Conditioner for Summer Recording
The stand-alone cooler units R.E. is referring to are evaporative coolers. They call 'em swamp coolers here in Denver, and they work reasonably well here where the humidity is low, but I don't think they will work well anywhere other than near-desert humidity levels. They don't cool very quickly, ei...

Re: Jay Leno and David Letterman
Seems like they ususally suck so much because the mix is so, so sh___y. What do those guys mix to, anyway? Some great moments, though. Any body see Tom Waits on Letterman last year? Worth staying up for.

Miles Davis' Bitches Brew takes the prize for me;
The only thing better is soundguy's response. Starless and Bible Black? You're way braver than me for even trying that!
