Re: Jay Leno and David Letterman

it seems the case in late night music guests...the later the show...the more I tend to like the music. I can't stand to watch any bands on leno or dave. You're absolutely right...it's embarrassing...you see them, and they can hardly play together...same goes for whoever might be playing on SNL... I ...

Re: do you ever get sick of it

The whole shaking babies and kissing hands thing I'm horrible at this. In fact, I'm so bad at it...people usually think i'm some hipster asshole. Like I'm too good to talk to them. I'm just not good at talking with people...(brutally shy)...at least not until I've known them for awhile. needless to...

Re: The young hipsters are killing me....

or you have the ones that go in the basement...get smashed on bud light...and try to make the drum solo on "In a gadda da vidda " even longer. i have to say though...I know I'm guilty of some of the list above...especially gear questions. Everytime I go to a show...I try to get close enough to see w...

to fix up...or to rent...

so...I finally am getting ready to do some long overdue recording, and plugged in...put on the headphones, and heard what sounds like a growling dog, capable of cycle breathing. There is an airduct right above my head. and the room next to mine, has the furnace. Is there anyway to fix this (without ...

Re: Tape, or not to tape... that is the question...

Agree...agree... I was trying to say something along those lines early on in the thread...but only spun my tires. The important thing is to find something that you're comfortable with. Something that sounds good to you. I feel the best tool you can have as an engineer are your own two ears. I like u...

Re: stapes vs. the ghetto army

no...i mean they are selling the 603 with a large diaphram condenser by Marshall...so little and big as a pair. how does that work?? I talked to Eric from Stapes the other day...he said they are closer, but still not quite ready to sell. He's gonna let me know when they're ready...and I'll pass the ...

Re: stapes vs. the ghetto army

that reminds me of another question. I've noticed that people have been selling the MXL 2001 and 603s as a pair. Do they work well as a pair? or are people just trying to get rid of back stock?

Re: Tape, or not to tape... that is the question...

the new sigur ros i guess is completely computer... this debate could go on and on...(it's been going on in my head for the past two weeks.) I recently just got out of a non-user friendly relationship with a Roland VS...and i'm still debating whether to just spruce up the computer and do that...or g...

Re: stapes vs. the ghetto army

right now all I have are a couple SM57's...so i'm wondering if it's better to use those on things close up, and fill in the rest with the stapes...or to get different mics for a somewhat larger collection??

Re: what would you do?

I just got rid of a Roland VS840...for that very reason. I decided to jump into the digital world, and the VS line looked like a nice little pool. I suppose if you got over the learning curve, it wouldn't be bad...but the manual was about 200 pages of jargon...and it made the simplest functions diff...
