Re: RIP John Abercrombie

great jazz guitarist on ECM for many years. scofield posted a touching note on facebook that john was "the nicest guy you could ever meet, when i first moved to the big city he helped me out and guided me without pre-tense". sounded like a real honest dude.

Click on Quick links menu up left, new posts, as well as some other options. Your combination of forums is also ...

Re: Mega-board

is the mega board the "new posts" link that used to be in the top right corner? where you could click it and any new post since you'd last been on would appear? if so, yes i loved that feature and do miss it. it made it easier to "catch up" on posts. so condensing forums would make sense in that reg...

one further note, pretty much any House of Blues will work. They are all (except 1) at 1k or above, have good catering, nice green rooms, space for busses/vans/trailers, have able bodied crew to load in/out, clean bathrooms and showers and you get plenty of booze. they are the corporate venues but h...

that's my favorite stereolab record. i enjoy their mid-late output, not really a fan of their early noisy-rock-drone thing. the bossa nova lounge groove stuff is what i like.

Google Chrome warns me this site now contains malware

A warning comes up when using Google Chrome that this site contains malware. I skipped the warning, but didn't ever see this before. Just a heads up.

Hmm I've never heard of Zonal, but if I had a need for more tape I'd take a swing at it. doing more research apparently the company went through a couple iterations. Zonal then Ilford-Zonal then Racal-Zonal. British made, used by the BBC apparently, they also made 5" tapes for Nagra players (makes ...

Well the 930 looks like LPR35, so probably appropriate for 388 use...a few bucks cheaper too. I have to assume that this is just white labeled from someone else, probably Pyral/Mulann, as you suggested. I would be surprised if it's a special formula made for them, regardless of what their marketing...
