There are lots of great ideas on this compilation of music made for contact mics I was on, folks did some really cool stuff. http://brownianmotion.bandcamp.com/album/coupe-of-negation-theorem-as-contact-trickery I taped mine to a piece of ductwork and leaned it against an amp for some of the stuff ...

I'm sure all the tape delay users out there would love to see a 1 mil lubricated tape being manufactured again.

Re: Blues Junior fix. One redplating power tube. solved

This amp blew one power tube a while back. I was just running it with one tube for a few months cause I liked how it sounded. Kind of the edge of meltdown down sound ala Neil Young Crazy Horse stuff. I finally opened it up today. About half the solder joints on the crappy PCB tube socket were loose...

Orange County Speaker Repair has long been the go-to for reconing. I've never used them, but they're worth checking. http://www.speakerrepair.com You might also see if there are any tutorials on instructables or youtube. They are an excellent place to get your speakers done and if you own a shop th...

Thanks! That's exactly the kind of thing I was looking for. I'll check it out with my neighbor and report back. I know he has experience with reconing EVs in particular, so maybe I'll buy a kit and start with that, then dive into the custom parts once my feet are wet. In my experience EV's are some...

You can buy parts (not kits) from www.tedweber.com you kinda have to know what you're doing to buy parts, they do that on purpose. Maybe your neighbor can help you dissect your speakers so you can get the right spider/voice coil/cone. I've seen kits for older JBL and EV speakers online, but I can't ...

I have to admit that sometimes I touch the passive radiator on my sub when doing a mix or eq'ing, but that doesn't have a voice coil to knock out of alignment.

That's a solid state amp... I am in the amp repair business and while I can't say for sure without the amp on my bench, from the number of Stage 100's I've fixed, most likely you have a cracked solder joint for a power resistor or capacitor in the power supply, which you cannot see unless you take ...

So, what is the difference between the m267 and m67? In term of sound? Does the older m67 sound more 'vintage'? Just cause i live in Europe, and the m267 can work at 240v. Its almost impossible to find an m67-2E here, and im really not good at modding stuff... I don't have much experience with the ...

Years ago I got tired of paying people to put non lubricated tape in my machine and not actually fix it and blow up my amps. I learned electronics so nobody would ever touch my stuff again. Spent a bit of time as a pro audio repair tech, now I'm a senior technician at a radio observatory. That broke...

I realize this is slightly off-topic but does anyone know how to replace the VU meter lamp in a Space Echo? I have an RE-150 and the lamp has been burnt out for a few years... When you take the lid off, there is a box that butts up against the front face, remove the two screws and the bulb is right...

Same here, small pieces for mic'd guitars and basses.

Sounds like the amps don't have a high enough input impedance to not load down the circuit.
