Cool track - So I haven't had the chance to mess with it yet - but have you seen if it's possible to just automate the punch in on a dedicated track for it? That's a clever idea--hadn't thought of it. Yeah, you could probably set up an automation track to turn record on or off at specific times, us...

Already have both the iMac and record. No, there's no punch-in at all. Some people have figured out how to use the sustain pedal on a controller keyboard as a manual punch, but then of course you lose the use of, you know, sustain. And there is no solution for auto punch. I've been working around it...

Jesus. I am in shock. Record has no crossfading except in an incredibly kludgy "comp mode", and has no auto punch-in. NO AUTO PUNCH. AT ALL. OF ANY KIND. I like it, but this is pretty fundamental. There is basically no way I can record drums in this program. I wish I'd realized this before I bought ...

It seems to me that when you delete an audio clip in Record, it is ACTUALLY DELETED. That is, it isn't just removed from view, leaving a wav file somewhere behind--it is actually gone. And if you want to keep a lot of takes you just record over them and then edit in comp mode. Is this right? If so, ...

Well, after a few hours with it, I provisionally like it. I love the easy integration with Reason's instruments and effects: works great. The ability to detach the mixer from the sequencer and move them around is quite nice. It all feels pretty intuitive. I'm not sure about the consolidated-file thi...

Thanks, that's hugely informative! I think I may be kind of an ideal customer for Record/Reason...I like softsynths but in the realm of effects, increasingly just rely on the bundled effects (EQ, gate, and comps) that come with Reaper. And my "sound" has increasingly become the sound of my instrumen...
