Yes, vinyl is certainly not for great ROI. How could anything beat digital distribution in that category?
Downloads are for selling your music to people who aren't crazy about music. Vinyl is for sharing your music with people who are.

It's hard to believe that he really sells as much as is listed as having sold. It must be easy enough to create a number of user ID's with different paypal accounts, then just buy your own stuff to make it look like it was "sold". Do that long enough and the market gets inflated, then eventually peo...

For double bass, what has been said is true: that it's hard to capture the sound of the entire instrument without using an omni, or backing off quite a bit with a cardioid. And then the room sound becomes part of the instrument too.... Surprising amounts of sound comes from the neck area and from th...

This has basically been fully explored, but I'll add a couple of comments.... I may be wrong, but the line level signal would be best plugged into the line-in inputs on the FOH console. Most clubs don't have stage snake inputs that run to the console line-in's - just to the mic inputs. So the engine...

Wordclock: If you had 2 Echo Audiofire12's, you could just connect them to each other via a BNC wordclock cable. No external clock needed. I see the routing as this: Mics to Mixer Mixer to Tape Machine Tape Machine to Inputs on A/D/A converter (Echo or whatever brand) Outputs of A/D/A converter to l...

This is interesting but certainly not the future of DYI vinyl. You can already cut your own for much cheaper than a 3D printer:

3D printing is cool for making models and stuff but the limitations are not stressed very often (naturally).

I think doing lots of takes is great. If you are playing something where you have exact ideas about each nuance of the part it takes lots of takes to get focused in on what there is to do and what to concentrate on. Didn't bands like the Beatles do tons and tons of takes? If you're playing more impr...

Thanks
Thanks for all the tips. I've followed up on many. It does seem like a 500 series rack opens up a lot of options, I'll keep checking stuff out.
