Try Supernatural in Oregon City. Great live room, HD system, tons of great mics, pres, boards etc. I think they can be had for less than $700 a day, too.

I just read the latest arguments pro/con about copy protection and whatnot in the new mag, which is fabulous BTW. I think the best approach is to buy the software, and then if the DRM/antipirate components turn out to be a pain in the ass, use the cracked version of the software that you've already...

I think Waves has pissed on their customers for so long that most have found other options. The only folks that this "change" is really good for are those with expensive TDM bundles where the WUP fees were huge. For me, a Native Platinum bundle user, I need to pay $200 to get WUP'd. My entire bundle...

Quite lame for a "new" Digi interface. I wonder how long before my 002R becomes a "legacy" product and Digi stops supporting it. Will I be stuck at PT 8.0? (Like the 001's being stuck at PT 6.4) If they improved the converters or the pres their press isn't touting that... So I doubt that was their f...

I had not considered a Sync I/O box. I appreciate the suggestion. I'm a few months away from doing a recording project that will be sync'd to video. For now I'm going to work with what I've got. The Octopre has been very prissy when I have it slaved to the 192. Sometimes it just doesn't want to work...

So I got the power supply fixed, that I broke. I've tried several different tubes in the mic. I've cleaned the cables and plugs. I've tried different patterns. It does pattern select but they don't sound all that different. It just doesn't sound right. Sounds like there is phase cancelations in the ...

Re: Overhead questions
Any recommendations on new overheads? I'd like to keep it to $700 for a pair. I've even thought of just trying one overhead this time and spending $700 on a great mic instead. Has anyone had success with this? Tough to get a good pair for that price. Can you try out some different mics? You might t...
