Since i only need 4ins and 4 outs i thought maybe i could do it for 500 or so, but i don't want to trade converter quality for some extra pre's or a headphone out

anyone compare the old motu 828 with the firepod or rme stuff? I am looking for the best converters for the money without extra stuff (mic pres). I have a pretty good variety of those already.

im running server 2003 with no problems. i installted some programs in 'compatability mode' so the program thinks its on xp. very fast and stable. theres a post in here somewhere with a link to how to tweek it

I built the tapeop mic pre (jfet) and something has got me. The schematic tell you that a 48V power source is required if you want phantom power. The circuit uses a 22V wall wart.
