EQ

i would go just to be able to build a usable EQ. It seems to be absent from
the diy/bang for the buck market.

Re: best converters

thanks...
sounds like most of the rme and lynx stuff is over a grand.

Since i only need 4ins and 4 outs i thought maybe i could do it for 500 or so, but i don't want to trade converter quality for some extra pre's or a headphone out

help me out guys. :?

best converters

anyone compare the old motu 828 with the firepod or rme stuff? I am looking for the best converters for the money without extra stuff (mic pres). I have a pretty good variety of those already.

thanks

i heard e-mu is making some good stuff. anyone tried it?

I have the delta 44 and im pretty happy with mics and pres that i have. question is... what is a good replacement for the delta that won't add extra weak pres that i don't want to pay for but gives me at least 4 channels of great A/D for less than 500? im open to suggestions but i have to have at le...

sticky about sound cards?

I like reading the opinions on mics and pres but im having trouble with soundcard (or other io type things). It would be nice to have a bunch of reviews so that i could compare my delta 44 to the motu stuff and echo stuff etc...(like those sticky threads on mic reviews) i assume these things aren't ...

Re: how do i get phantom power.

yes, i actually did find one.... http://www.tangible-technology.com/tubes/1566/power/Phantom_frying.html but this, like others, requires a 120V AC input. i was trying to avoid having a wall wart and a 120V plug coming out the back of my preamp.... Anybody konw how FMR et al get circuit voltage (22V ...

how do i get phantom power.

I built the tapeop mic pre (jfet) and something has got me. The schematic tell you that a 48V power source is required if you want phantom power. The circuit uses a 22V wall wart. Is there any way to get the 48V from the wall wart without screwing up the voltage/current going to the gain stages? I c...
