Yeah - Haven't approved the test pressing yet. Working on it. Very strange.

Weird Artifacts on Test Pressings

A client of mine stopped by yesterday with some test pressing he'd just received. Everything sounds pretty good and overall I'm really happy with it - but there is this weird thing going on throughout where it sounds like all the acoustic guitars have some kind of warble, as if it sounds like there ...

Listening is an awesome way to record and mix. You listen so you can congratulate someone who's done a great take and move on to the next thing to record - or if need be you can offer some encouragement or pointers on how to get the next take. That way you're not blowing a bunch of time re-taking so...

I think this sounds great already. I agree with the comment about the melody instruments needing a little more presence.

How about another stereo pair further away in the hall to blend for more ambient sounds, use as natural reverb?

The room itself sounds pleasant.

Is it typically hard to draw your own schematic from looking at the circuit?

It doesn't seem like it would be. Can you think of any brick walls I'd come up against doing that?

2.7k is Satan's Frequency...turn the vocals into laser beams of hate... Well, shit. Wish I'd known that years ago. Yeah that's totally one of those where you feel like the lead vocal isn't popping out enough and you start fishing around for frequencies. Some where around there it pops out and you g...

Rode Classic - Schematic

Hey Folks -

I'm wondering if anyone has a Rode Classic schematic they'd be willing to share? They're pretty hard to come across using the google.

Thanks!

Albert.

I'm also looking for suggestions on how to mount filter caps inside a tube amp. I've tried hot glue as I've seen some folks do, but I can't get it to stick.

So I checked this out. Pretty cool. One note though - I know there is no right or wrong way to do things really when recording and if it sounds good then it is - but I was always under the impression that when you did an XY the capsules were supposed to point away from one another and not toward as ...

I like it. I don't want all mixes to be drums, bass and lead vocal in the middle. I get bored with that scenario. It sounds right sometimes, but I do find it exciting and in a non-gimmicky way when things are done differently. I love the snare sound on Damn the Torpedoes, but I don't want all the sn...
