Not to hijack this thread (too much) but when I was researching the disressor, the brit mod was very hyped, and I figured why not go ahead and get it, it doesnt add all that much to the price. Now that I have had my distressor for a few months, I hardly ever use it (the brit mod). It doesnt seem to...

it definatly SOUNDS like it is compressing when it is doing it. sometime pretty hard. i don't even remember if the meters are going off. although i don't hear it all the time. must depend on the settings. i never really paid that much attention to it. i just though it was just one of the distressor...

By definition 1:1 is not compressing with or without the brit mode. The brit mode does make the input meters go crazy though. The meters may be lighting up but nothing should be getting compressed at 1:1...maybe distorted/added harmonics/ midrange emphasis/but not compression. BTW the Distressors a...

Wow, those samples on GS really show what it can do. E-cue thanks for making them. It really interesting how you can't hear it at all in stereo but in mono it's plain as day.

I'd also go for the regular version. Actually, I did and got two. Here's an mp3 thread I posted at GS to give your ears an idea of what it does: http://gearslutz.com/board/showthread.php3?t=24927 IME it works best to process the signal closest to the source (DI, or mic closer to the amp, etc). Whoa...

Pay the extra scratch and get the regular version, because for not that much more you get a DI, line splitter and reamp along with the phase adj. I ended up sending my jr. back and getting the regular IBP box. The regular version sounds like a good idea. i didn't know you could reamp with it. How's...

I am usually scoffed at for this, but I love the Zoom UF-01: http://www.durc.com.mx/data/images/zoomuf.jpg It's a very "clinical" fuzz, really versatile and "clean." In a dirty way, if that makes sense. Hmm, maybe it doesn't. I was going to say this also. I heard it called the poor mans Fuzz Factor...

Little Labs phase alignment tool?

Anyone have any real world experience using one of these? From the description I read about them they seem like they are a little box sent from heaven. I'm thinking they would be great for a acoustic guitar player/singer. I would like to put the mics where they sound best and not worry about the law...

The drummer in my old band (mid '80s) used to clip pics out of porno mags and tape them to his drums. And I thought he was a freak... but apparently, he was merely typical. You ever seen that metallica doc about the making of the black album. lars had nekked ladies all over his kit....so yes...

Sytek dealers?

Does anyone know if Sytek has any dealers? I don't really want to buy from Sytek directly because I live in Illinois and they are in Illinois and I don't want to pay sales tax which could be like 60-70 bucks. Thank ya.

I studied sound in college and I thought it was great. Ya know, you get out of it what you put in....and some people need structure to learn (like me). BUT whatever you do go to a school where you can get a Bachelors degree...and get a job. English, philosophy, recording or whatever...most employeer...
